kyska
In the winter I alway have a few old newspapers in the spare wheel well. A sheet of newspaper is as warm as a blanket if you have to kip in the car for any reason. Why don't you just take blanket?
pg123
Tissues.....? Just wash the blanket when you get home
Brixsmaid
For those of you who don't drive a Transporter/Transit or an arctic - I'm assuming you then take a trailer for real essentials like, guns, ammo, deeks, nets, dogs etc.
Lord Geordie
I used to carry a bag of tools in my Volvo 340 1.7. One year I went to Norfolk for a boat hol and on the motorway the clutch pedal went stiff! Could not depress it, Drifted into the hard shoulder and had a gander. The bell housing bolt had came loose! I grabbed a spanner, and 25 seconds under the car had it nipped back up and on my merry way! Then on the way home the Carb gave up! I pulled into a scrapyard and left £15 for a renault 21 carb and 20 mins later was on my way again! Now I keep a Warning triangle, tow rope, high vis vests for the Boy n Me, Oil, Screen wash, brake fluid, jumper cables and a bottle of ready mixed coolant! in a boot tidy. Touch wood I have never needed them!
Gordon R
Car has one of the daft compressor kits, with the gungy stuff for the tyre - waste of time if there is a big hole. Socket set, screwdrivers, pliers, spanners, breaker bar. Proper spare wheel, jack, electric impact gun, bulbs, fuses, jump leads, tow rope, torch. Never used any on my own - in last 5 years - but have done two cars in the last three months for other people. loriusgarrulus
I forgot two walking poles and a picnic set. The water is for the dogs. The coca cola is for us. There are lots of places to stash stuff including in the barebox and behind the bench seats and front seats.

I am guessing you are regularly doing the Camel trophy ;-) However the most worrying items you are carrying have to be the shopping bags!!!
