wymberley
Delighted to hear on the Today program on R4 this morning that 39% of Swedes are now anti-EU but that would rise to 59% if we left. We are truly at the centre of Europe, leading the way and shaping it's future which is for it to fall apart. Thinking in the long term and for children and grandchildren we are best off out now. The genie will not go back into the bottle. And we only get to wish once.
digger
The polls got it very wrong at the last election. I'm with Mung on this. One side tells lies, half lies and truths. The other side tells truths, half lies and lies. It was ever thus
Jbob
So.....reading between the lines, what you're saying is that you are a lily-livered, bleeding-heart liberal and a sandal-wearing, Green voting, hippy that hates Britain, and kills puppies for fun? And you use snap caps. Bit harsh, not all thats true lol. I voted for Dave, I don't wear sandals cos I don't have any white socks and I don't own snap caps

walshie
I spoke to a chap this morning who said he wants to leave but he thinks remain are going to win so he's voting remain That's appalling. There should be 3 criteria to vote in the referendum. 1: Be over 18 2: Be a British or Commonwealth citizen 3: Not be retarded.

That seems to have come out on the evening news as well, seems most of the IN voters interviewed don't understand what its all about so are voting to stay, that's an appalling way to decide the future of our country! rodp
A few comments about the vote being rigged If the way the votes are be counted in this referendum will be the same as local elections then the public can be present, so ask when placing your vote! You may be able to watch the counting process. Stolen / borrowed from another forum. Just heard that the referendum count in Bury St Edmunds will be closed to the public. This has not happened at any recent vote in memory. I have a friend who has worked on every count for the last 15 years. Just been in contact and she has not been invited this time. Can anyone shed any light on what might be happening here or are the bookies universal 4 to 1 on stay odds based on prior knowledge?

rodp
it seems strange that overnight all the polls have swung back in favour of the remain lobby....and yet it takes a week for the polls to change to show the swing in favour of the leave lobby................ Just part of the fiddle, they know the sheeple will follow the pack so they say the pack is going "this way", and they follow.
chrisjh
Where did that come from, after the debate last night the suggestion was VERY CLOSE! May I please implore you all to vote, and vote OUT, forget any of this I'm not voting its fixed anyway malarkey, apathy could well be the outs undoing, cast your vote, it really isn't much to ask! just my best guess might try and get a few quid on it, I always vote I think everyone should a lot of people sacrificed everything they had to earn us that right

Being somewhat deaf, I might have got this wrong so could anyone kindly put me straight. I am sure (as I can be) that on a news report it was said that the two differing votes when taken to the 'counting houses' were put into separate boxes and weighed. Can this be right? wymberley
I heard that too and thought can that be right. Thank heaven for that - was wondering if my marbles were getting lost. I wonder if it was a slip of the tongue or could it be a security measure taken after the count to ensure that should a recount or whatever other reason required further examination, then any significant change to the contents would easily be recognised? timps
They have to be physically counted according to the electoral commission so if they are being weighed it's something not required or suggested by them. http://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0004/196258/EU-Ref-Part-E-Verification-and-counting-of-the-votes.pdf 6.8 The number of votes given for each answer should then be counted and placed into bundles of a predetermined number, e.g. bundles of 10, 20, 25, 50 or 100. A slip or card bearing either Remain or Leave together with the number in the bundle, should be attached to the front. It may be helpful to colour-code the slips. The bundles should then be re-counted by another counting assistant in order to ensure the accuracy of the bundle.
