Hendrix's rifle
In short, yes. My local RFD can't get 30g vmax for my wmr for another month or so... no one else around here do it to my knowledge:(
team tractor
I haven't tried for a few months but Winchester 55 ballistic tipped .223 and hornady v max was sold out everywhere I tried. If I'm honest I've struggled with hmr, lr and .
snow white
You want to try getting 17 hornet from rfd like rocking horse ****
Savhmr
I usually buy 60g VMax by the 400 because supply is intermittent. I'd suggest buying as much as you're entitled to when it's in stock.

rbrowning2
I think old farrier is correct I am being told it is now around £50 for the shop to get a delivery of section 5 ammo and with the profit on ammo being not a lot then the small shops are not wanting to stock so much or if they run out of one type then it does not justify an order until they get low on lots of type. Looking like a post code lotto ok if you are near a big shop like Henry kranks etc not so good if you are not.
Ziplobb
The issue with S5ammo deliveries has compounded the lack of availability of US made ammo here in the UK. Earlier in the year TNT withdrew their service of moving S5 ammo - there is no other authorised carrier. As a result some of the wholesalers GMK, RUAG for example have set up their own delivery service with their own van & guys. Other RFDS are driving around the country themselves and collecting it - some of the UK (like the Isle of Wight) is not covered by this delivery service at all. As you can imagine its caused huge problems and of course all of the current solutions are far far more expensive than what TNT used to charge. Some of the wholesalers (Edgars particulalry) have not had Hornady in many popular calibers for months and indeed do not think this situation will change in the near future. So you prime the cases, chuck some powder in and then , , , , , , , , , , Can't get the bullets so what do you plug the end with ? Frozen peas ? mick miller
So you prime the cases, chuck some powder in and then , , , , , , , , , , Can't get the bullets so what do you plug the end with ? Frozen peas ? You can make your own bullets, copper jacketed soft point, hollow point even 17cal 20gn boat tail if you want. The only one that's tricky to make is ballistic tip. Mind you, it's over a grand to get yourself set up. Edited October 16, 2016 by mick miller

Edgar Brothers get a Hornady shipment every month. The only calibre in short supply coming in is .17hmr.

TONY R
Go back a year 18 nmonths, the americans on Predatormasters were crying about .22 rimfire ammo, they were trying to buy it in shops like walmart etc and everytime they got some in people were buying trolleys full of it, thousands of rounds each filling cupboards cellars etc with .22 ammo. Im not kiding look on there a year or so ago it was rife over there, this panic buying stock piling was blamed for the ammo shortage, powder shortage not just the war armerment industry. I dont supose the americans have sudenly started bbuying up .17 ammo have they in huge ammounts? Cant think everyone will have one of the 17 hmrs over there, but maybe they dont need a gun to stock pile ammo. im not sure.
fortune
Son in law can't find any 17hmr. I told him not to buy the beastly thing. He's now got 6--7 lbs of a metal and wood and no ammunition. Anyone know of a dealer in the south east who might have got a bit of 17 hmr available?
