Corbyn stated in the press today that if may doesn't go about article 50 the way he wants it ,he will force a general election .

Who dos he think he is kidding ? If we had a general election in the spring the Labour Party would lose a lot of seats . Please ,please let's have a general election next week and get this left wing element out of government .

What I am saying is ,the Labour Party will lose seats to the Tories because of the split in the Labour Party with Corbyn as leader . I say bring it on and cleanse parliament of this anti Semitic, union loving load of left wingers .

What about the resurgence of the rudderless ship party ? Wont they take some seats from Tories and Labour. ??

My, oh my, the content here is very off line if anyone thinks any Government without credible opposition is a good thing?

I can see the influence to the Torieson the NHS all around here, all done by stealth, ambulances now sport private names, health care run by Virgin and Serco, consultant appointments in private clinics?

Beware of what you wish for?

Not saying Corbyn or the liberals are a credible alternatives either, never mind Brexit we have other trouble much closer to home?

Think this through chaps. Corbyn is still leader of the same Labour ministers who resigned from his Shadow Cabinet wholesale. He is surrounded by ministers who would rather stab him in the back than say Hello and he's stuck with them until the next general election when he can then use the National Labour Party to out the Bliarites and replace them with Commies, sorry I mean left leaning Labour members who would support him in Parliament. The next scheduled general election is not for a few years yet so it is in his personal interests to bring that forward if he can.

Well, with the support of his party he could attempt to. . . oh the irony.

Barking mad though if he really thinks it's a good idea.

That's just it though Neil, his party, or most of them, won't want a general election as they are likely to be deselected by the National Labour Party and lose their jobs. They will want to sit it out until the next scheduled GE and hope that things turn around for them. So the way I see it, all those Labour MPs who oppose Corbyn will vote with the Government in order to prolong this Parliament.

You couldn't make it up.

Labour got wiped out in Scotland. Corbyn is now aiming to repeat that in England and Wales. I think he might just do it.

The man is an imbecile. he can't control his own party, let alone force an election. He should stick to being a friend of Diane Abbott. It might prove more successful, albeit unthinkable.

Labour in my opinion haven't been a viable alternative since the Gordon Brown "no more boom and bust"

Borrowing more money than both world wars together. I'm no Tory but anything is better than Labour, especially a Corbyn one

Your a BLIARITE then?

I understand Corbyns non-supporting collegues want a GE with a massive Tory vote but only to get rid of JC. They will then re-build without him. They see this as the only way they can get rid of him. I'm not so sure as I suspect yes, Tory vote will increase but the £5 labour support will continue to vote for him.

I can't see that myself. Given Corbyn's overwhelming support at national party level those non-supporting colleagues would not be re-selected to stand as Labour candidates. They would be replaced by pro-Corbyn candidates and the few that get elected would remain in place until the next GE which might be four years away. Turkeys don't vote for Christmas.

Either way UK Poacher I don't see PM calling a GE as she doesn't need to and she has some serious work to do exiting us from EU which will take some years to finalise.

My take on it is that she will only call an election if she doesn't get enough support to push the Brexit vote through. Those Tory MPs thinking of voting against won't want to face a GE given the potential public reaction to Parliament blocking a referendum result. And the Labour MPs would be history.

Also given that most of the UK newspaper owners are pro-Brexit public opinion is likely to be inflamed if MPs over ride the public vote.

Not at all he was a major part of the problem then turned and run when he see it all going wrong, then turned the country over to the thief Gordon Brown.

None of them are trustworthy they are all in it for themselves and will do whatever helps them, regardless of labour or conservative, we need a party that'll actually do what the people vote for and whose main priority is the tax payer not everyone else.

Interesting comment. Earlier I was watching a Peter Hitchens video and he suggested that rather than the two major parties we have now (neither of which conform to the classical interpretation of their values) two new parties could be formed from the remain and leave sides of the referendum and they would be far more relevent in today's political landscape.

Although a great sentiment the truth is the tax payer will always want more for less and that quickly becomes ineffective.

It has been proven time and time again that despite all the well wishing and promises to the contrary that as soon as the tax payer is asked to stump up they complain.

To achieve real change we need to stop politicising the things that need changing, i.e. the NHS, and actually support change happening. So long as our politics is a popularity contest we will zig zag along making skittery changes around the edges and not actually seeing any real or meaningful reform.

Its the same in all forms of life. That's why Sports Direct exist and Nike use child labour. Its all sanctioned by the public wanting to pay less.
