rovercoupe
Coniston has loads of trainer/beginner stands, when i am having a howler i can get on them and at least hit some of them! Allways seem to have beginners/tasters going on to.

Chris Bb
Are you asking where to go for instruction or where to take a fried/relative to teach them yourself? There's a world of difference.

Wb123
I was invited to a cracking shoot today, and would certainly take a beginner. Unfortunately whilst they are trying to find new members they dont want to advertise because apparently it finds the wrong sort. I despair sometimes, but am also puzzled by the suggestion i am the right sort.
Chris Bb
The reason for my earlier question is that I know of two types of ground locally: Friendly "straw balers" that are good for beginners but not good for learning at as the learners' slow progress will only hack of the serious shooters, me included, as they typically don't have learning stands. Commercial "pay as you go" shoots which are great for learning and practicing at but tend to have awful resident instructors who don't encourage other teachers on their patches. Danger-Mouse
Quite right. Although personally I haven't encountered the bad instructors problem. My local straw baler is a nice easy shoot for beginners but I'd rather take a first timer to somewhere that's plug and play. shoot and be safe
If you are taking someone to have a proper lesson with an instructor, then Bob Valentine's Shooting School on the Llýn Peninsula Gwynedd would always get my vote. A vast array of targets and a relaxing atmosphere.

billytheghillie
In the Scottish Borders you can choose from, Bisley at Braidwood or the Roxburgh Hotel, Heiton, Kelso. I like the Roxburgh as its much smaller and has excellent coaches.
