Shots outside parliament

Yes but compared to bombs on packed underground trains or AK47s at a crowded concert we should acknowledge how much worse it could have been. Probably the dumbest place in London for a terrorist to attack given the level of security.

Sadly they are now confirming that one of the officers has died.

Agreed, but it should still be treated with the same degree of seriousness out of respect for all involved.

What amazed me was the speed of respsonse. I was on a train due to leave London at 14:48. As you can see from my original post the (I assume) policeman received a call telling him to "get back to base" and he then got off the train. Apparently the incident happened at 14:40 so that means that within 8 minutes (likely less) somebody was invoking a cascade call to recall officers. Very impressive.

RIP to those killed and a speedy recovery to those injured.

A friend of mine has posted this.

He is a member or the Police Force serious crimes Squad.

Borrowed from a mate...

The policeman stood and faced his God,

Which must always come to pass.

He hoped his shoes were shining.

Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.

How shall I deal with you?

Have you always turned the other cheek?

To My church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,

"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,

Because those of us who carry badges

can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,

and at times my talk was rough,

and sometimes I've been violent,

Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,

That wasn't mine to keep....

Though I worked a lot of overtime

When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,

Though at times I shook with fear.

And sometimes, God forgive me,

I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place

Among the people here.

They never wanted me around

Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here,

Lord, It needn't be so grand.

I never expected or had too much,

But if you don't.....I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne

Where the saints had often trod.

As the policeman waited quietly,

For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, policeman,

You've borne your burdens well.

Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,

You've done your time in hell."

Sad news for innocent people that have fallen on the streets of London. Due to the scum of the earth, that are brain washed with their ridiculous believes !!.

What one person can do with a car and a chib, In a high security zone In London !! I wouldn't want to imagine If they were more, In the mix.

Sad news for people going about there daily business, that where killed or maimed.

My thoughts are for all - but one.

Very sad. What did the attacker hope to achieve by driving a car into pedestrians some of whom were French school students on a day trip. No one can gaurd 24/365 the event of an attack either by a lone attacker or an organised group attack. Many questions will need to be asked and solutions put in place. What I don't understand is why the police act like cowboys when something like this happens. Is it really necessary to have every siren and blue light working three hours after the event? Is it necessary to be driving around at high speed like racing drivers when there is no active danger or violent activity? And as usual the high ranking officer states that there will be more armed officers patrolling the streets. It's a bit late the horse has bolted. This was one attacker using a car as a weapon and a knife. How are they going to cope with a concerted attack by numerous attackers such as the hotel attack in India or a multi layered attack where the public services could be lured into a kill zone. Again my thoughts are with the innocent public who left home not to return or with Life changing injuries. And for what. Nothing. May the people who supported this rot in a sewage pit. Would any god want this pointless savage attack in their name?

Media coverage.

LOTS & LOTS of free publicity...

Primetime TV for the next few days.

Add on extra inconvenience & "measures" (like current airline travel) that will result; especially as the MPs have been adjacent, so it'll be "personal" for them.

Compared to Nice & Paris, ineffectual regarding casualties (NOT to take away ANYTHING from those tragically murdered in this attack), but my guess would be a HUGE knee jerk response from Parliament.

This will restrict the greater public in general, but may also play into the hands of the attackers & become a recruiting sergeant for more similar disaffected lone wolf borderline personalities!

Guerrilla warfare tends to operate in such ways...so look back to the decades spent in Ulster & realise we're now IN that position BUT have a huge number of potential martyrs awaiting their promised allocation of virgins living among us.

Sadly, we are living in interesting times!

Made it out in the end and am home.

A very eerie atmosphere in Westminster, roads all closed, at least 5 helicopters hovering.

Amazing response by the emergency services who were on the scene rapidly and who got things under control. Also struck by the calm and stoic response of the people in the area. No fuss or hysteria.

I was on train and overheard telephone conversation with passenger who was obviously a copper. Along the lines of "get back to base, terrorist incident".

we now know that 4 people have died including the Officer that first confronted the slime bag who was shot by an armed policeman. Thankfully the attacker did us all a favour and died. Two other innocent people going about their ordinary lives were run down murdered by this creature.

The hand wringing liberals and the Muslim Society of Great Britain wouldn't agree of course but is it not time that capital punishment was re introduced for acts of terrorism? Consider the two Islamic SOBs who murdered Lee Rigby. They are alive and well being fed and housed by the rest of us when in all truth they should have been executed. Yes, there is the martyr argument but they would be dead and gone.

I'll raise a glass to the 3 who were cut down by that low life!

From I saw on TV they said that the police two men that was stabbed and one that was killed were unarmed having said that there were armed police around this is something that surprises me as in my part of the world there is a lot of MOD camps and even though they have a shooting range and we hear them practicing once a week

But the security guards on the gates seem to be just normal unarmed guards not army or police as I see it any bad guys could just drive in and and start shooting all in sundry before the army guys get to the armoury and get hold of there guns to stop them.

When I used to go into the Houses of Parliament years ago the 'front of house' coppers were just ordinary Bobbies, maybe a little older than average and very friendly. More like Concierges than guards. They knew all the MPs and addressed them respectfully by name, opened car doors and helped with bags.

Seems like the attacker was Trevor Brooks, better known by his muslim name, Abu Izzadeen.

Google him, you'll probably know his face,

A well known baddie who quite frankly should have 'disappeared' years ago.

Such a shame innocent people have to die because we're too ******* soft to do what we need to do.
