yod dropper
For a lot of people it won't matter if the sums add up or not. Business and the top 5% are going to pay. Don't underestimate the attraction of this. I've written before about Andrew Fisher and Seamus Milne. I've recently read an article in The Times about Andrew Murray who is now behind the Labour campaign. Lifelong Communist party member, chair of Stop the War Coalition (handed over to Jezza and back again) etc etc. It's the people less visible who I really worry about. fortune
What has happened to the political parties? Labour have gone completely barmy and into la la Land. The libs, not even worth considering as a protest vote, cheap bus passes. Still there's hope for us all! The Greens have stated, >>> Green MEP Molly Scott Cato, who has pressed in the European Parliament for a VAT exemption on tampons, towels and mooncups, said it was an "outrage those on low incomes are forced to use socks or newspapers during their period because they can't afford a sanitary product". And they're going to get the money to do this by taxing >> "the sale of airships"! What the hell is a moon cup? I say that I want tax relief on second hand newspapers that poor people cut into squares to wipe their bum with. Sometimes the print comes off and it's demeaning to those that can't afford bog roll. Who said that the monster raving Looney party had no purpose? Any government needs a strong opposition to have checks and balances to keep to a straight line. The bog roll issue does it for me. I'm fed up with having the the print off of the Sunday sport emblazoned on my rear!!
Gordon R
Any government needs a strong opposition to have checks and balances to keep to a straight line. Very valid point. Unfortunately, there isn't one at present and may not be for quite some time. Labour will presumably use the election defeat, to try and oust Corbyn. It's their only hope. TIGHTCHOKE
Tim Farron and his useless eight or Jeremy Corbyn and his mathematics masterclass shadow cabinet. There is NO opposition!

AVB
Does canvassing not happen in person any more or is it all done on social media? I can't wait for a Libour or LibDumb canvasser to come knocking on my door so I can verbally kick them down the drive.
wandringstar
its like the non election, election, all 3 parties are rubbish, but the lib cons are a bit less rubbish. I do like staying up on election night though, maybe I should get out more.
fortune
Just asked the wife if anyone had been round canvasing or if we had, had an leaflets in the post box. She said nothing had happened yet. I told her to ready the hound for immediate launch.

I can't wait for a Libour or LibDumb canvasser to come knocking on my door so I can verbally kick them down the drive. I saw the labour candidate in the local elections round our way, sure they must have a list of old folk seemed to be knocking on random doors in the afternoon. Mice!
Todays Mirror, still banging on about fox hunting in the letters, and the big question is labours manifesto an election winner......... Drum roll......... 76% said yes its a shame really, but the best comment, no he(Corbyn) may as well be promising free unicorn rides around Buckingham palace love it
Vince Green
Very valid point. Unfortunately, there isn't one at present and may not be for quite some time. Labour will presumably use the election defeat, to try and oust Corbyn. It's their only hope. I don't know if they can get him out if he refuses to go. He is almost certainly detested by the MPs who know their jobs are on the line but they don't have the say. Thanks to Milliband opening up the membership the party has lost control to 'momentum' which back in the day was the old 'militant tendency'. You can't imagine all those thousands of people who rushed to join were all mild mannered moderates who suddenly took in in their heads that they would just like to. It was a hostile takeover

Lloyd90
hello, interesting take that gordon, those labourites who voted a no confidence in JC may do just that, I doubt it! Most of them know they only get a tick next to their name because of the colour of their tie, they wouldn't get elected in a different colour so they won't go! oldypigeonpopper
hello, they forecast a lot of young voters will be going with LABOUR, i think they need to do some research on previous labour goverments and if renationalising the trains/water/etc will be any better than in my life time oh and before they were born,
clakk
Trouble is the big bribe he,s just announced no tuition fees from September next year and the donuts are lapping it up as they have got a clue what damage these simpletons are going to do to the country
