JohnfromUK
I hope that all my fellow sportsmen (and women) will vote for their preferred candidate today. It's an important election for fieldsports and shooting sports in general, not just for the next 5 years, but for future generations. Once 'anti' laws or bans are introduced, turning back the clock will be a very hard hill to climb. In marginal constituencies your vote could make a real difference, so please find the time to vote for your sport.

Davyo
I will be popping in this afternoon , but who do i vote for? i haven't got a Scooby doo who to vote for.Field sport and Shooting is the least of my worries & i'm certainly not going to base a vote on just that. Labours defiantly out as that guy is totally mental, Tories are looking like my only option at the moment. My mate went this morning and he just drew a knob on his. In my opinion anything other than Conservative, is a wasted vote and strengthens Labour. I'm no Conservative supporter but will be voting for them. Even though they intend to run down HMRC by 2020 (lucky for me i fully retire in October) i think i'm going to vote for the Conservatives,Labours promises to increase public services is just a lie they used the last time. Probably because there inst a box to tick stating that you don't want to vote for none of the above, his way of protest i suppose.Imagine what these party's might do if no one voted in protest of no confidence in anyone of them? But it is a pointless protest because the system doesn't recognize protest so better to vote for an independant if one is standing.

Spoon
I'd prefer to pass a neutral message - just vote. It'd be easy to say which is the wrong or right way to do it, but just going and doing it is the important bit. Took me 5 minutes as I was dropping my son off at nursery. Tomorrow these forums will be full of people either praising themselves that they helped stop a disaster or lamenting that they're disappointed with the outcome. Either way, if you didn't vote then you have no right to whinge about it.

JohnfromUK
I'd prefer to pass a neutral message - just vote. That was the original intention when I started the post - which I deliberately kept non party political. However I do hope that all vote for candidates who do not wish to ban, impede or restrict fieldsports or legitimate shotgun and firearm ownership and usage. TaxiDriver
It is important that you exercise your right to vote, our fore fathers fought to preserve, It matters little which way you vote, Whoever wins will Royally **** you over, The Rich will get Richer, The poor and disadvantaged will remain so And the powers that be will continue to give away millions of £'s to other nations in Foreign Aid, Loans (ha like we ever get it back) whilst leaving our own vulnerable, young, elderly, sick to suffer. Fair point - I think I (incorrectly) took it a bit more partisan on first pass but can see we're on the same page.
Guest cookoff013
yep, i plan to vote. As to the guy defacing a ballot paper, it is his right. it is very easy to deface a paper. but wouldnt his effort be best used in someone that could represent change? call me silly, but some go right to the wire. four-wheel-drive
Ok here we go jumping into the fire I think that there should be a law stating that everyone must vote having said that there should be a non of the above section for a protest vote if you do not agree with any on the form. One thing that Conservatives forget is that before Tony Blair and Gorden Brown got voted in ( I will add that am a socialist always have been and always will be ) but I am no lover of ether of them having said that if you was around in the 70s 80s and 90s and can still remember it all of our Schools and Hospitals was in a terrible state of repair and your beloved conservative party could not give a **** about it. It took Blair and Brown to do I do not agree with the way that it was done but it was done we now have for the most part good schools and hospitals and the financial crash was not Browns fault it was a world crash caused by everyone letting the banks run riot in fact the conservatives was pushing for even slacker rules the fact is they all every party got it wrong. Gordon Brown mortgaged the NHS with PFI, a lot of the problems today are because so much money is having to be diverted to pay off the interest. Vince Green
Wasn't there a post on here recently that concluded all and Any restrictions to shooting right over the years had been brought about by the cons? Tony Blair pushed the handgun ban through after he won the 1997 election and the ban was his election pledge and he campaigned for it. The John Major Government only proposed the ban on centre fire handguns in the run up to the 1997 election because Blair was making it such an election issue.. Major tried very hard to keep handguns out of the election because Blair was using it to divert attention away from other political issues.
