old'un
Well it looks like Ms Abbott as made a miraculous recovery and is now back at Corbyn's side, she blames the tower block deaths on Tory social housing and John McDonnel is calling it murder, they are really playing the them and us game and people seem to believe it. lets hope we see more of Ms Abbott on TV because she is sure to put her foot in it sooner or later as her grasp on numbers as not improved....http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/grenfell-tower-fire-diane-abbott-victims-number-hundreds-labour-shadow-home-secretary-a7806106.html

Dave-G
I seem to recall reading the tower block was in a Labour controlled area - so they would allocate funding priorities and oversee building regs - and was built when Labour were in government. So yes that would be someone else's fault in Abbotts logic.

old'un
Well it must be following me, I have just got back from the dentist (replacement cap) listening to the two young receptionist girls talking politics, the one said "I voted Labour to stop fox hunting coming back" the other girl replied "and those Tory people shoot and kill animals plus Labour said we would get £10 an hour, I think Labour are more for the people" I was then called for my treatment, I would have loved to have stopped and listened to what else was in that intellectual conversation, god help shooting if Labour comes to power with all us toffs going round killing things. God help this country if thats what peoples reasons for voting left were. I eas at the pub last night with a mate, he is a signaller in the forces, and he voted labour because he thinks they would be better for him. Isn't the current leader saying he would dispand tridant, he never goes to remembrance day. He would dispand the forces if he could Edited June 26, 2017 by ShootingEgg
JohnfromUK
one said "I voted Labour to stop fox hunting coming back" Whilst I can't see any leadership change being sensible at the moment, Mrs May must have been off her head to put that in a manifesto. Fox hunting (and I'm a supporter) is a TOXIC issue in the electorate. Fortunately, she has fired her advisers (who made Diane Abbot look competent) and seem to have been hated by everyone except Mrs May. Mrs May had a workable majority - she had the chance of a big majority - and completely blew it by a manifesto full of exactly the stuff people don't want to hear. (It was completely unnecessary to mention fox hunting at all). At best, she has shown poor judgement in choice of advisers, and in accepting the advice - and publishing that manifesto. Where we are now, reluctantly, a leadership competition would be bad news for ongoing negotiations, but other than that, based on her judgement to date, she must be replaced by someone with decent judgement .......... or we will have a Corbin/McDonnell/Abbott led government - and that would be a disaster for shooting, economics, defence and will in a short period build up debts that will take generations to clear. Britain will be another Venezuela - because that is how socialism's free spending always ends up

The Town near where I came from has lost it's Library and now the Swimming pool is under threat due to budget cuts. They then out of the blue give £1b ontop of £500m to Northern Ireland. It's not going dowm well with the locals. Edited June 26, 2017 by Paul1440
