16BoreFan
I do a lot of Grey Squirrel control using a .410 Hushpower but want to extend my arsenal to an air rifle for shooting them at bait stations and pheasant feeders. I am reading good reports on Crosman Phantoms but what would other people suggest? And decent scope too.
Ultrastu
Do you have a budget in mind .? As a pcp would probably give you more reach .range wise . ofcourse if you bait at say 20 -25 yds then a springer would be fine .
Scotty1980
I like a BSA Lightning, nice cheap little rifle. Iv had a spring but quite fancy the GRT.
oldypigeonpopper
hello, it is a typical sub 12 spring rifle from a foreign manufacture, there are better ones and some have a fairly decent silencer, buy the scope seperate and you will not go wrong with a Hawke, as they are suitable for spring air rifles, 1 piece mount will hold better and most rifle have a back stop on the rail, the crossman is £190, for that you can get a Hatsan 900 X about £100 and hawke scope £65, the warranty for hawke is very good and deben the importer customer service. as for what calibre you will get advice on 22 or 177, choice is yours, if you not bothered about tuning you could give the spring and tube a spray of wet bike chain grease but very lightly, but these do tune well as with other in this price bracket, tinbum tune kits, Nick is the man to contact over in cornwall, if that crossman was in you local RFD what other makes does he sell ? Guest
You will struggle to get something decent for less than £200. Maybe second hand.

Whitebridges
If I were you i’d think about applying for a FAC. Looks like you have “Good reason’ . Plenty of .22 shorts or LR about for less than £200.
steve_b_wales
The Hatsan Striker 1000 S is good value for money. My mate bought one for his grandson and he rates it highly (for the price)
Mice!
how's about save up for a couple of months while you keep an eye on what's available local to you second hand, yes there are loads of options but even if you add another £100 or £200 to your budget your going to get a much better rifle and scope. bruno22rf
Agree with Mice - another £100 puts you in a far better position. However there are several possibilities on Guntrader (am I allowed to say that?)
strimmer_13
I got a remington express xp tatical, tinbum kit and after 200-300 pellets bedding it in will happily punch penny size holes at 20-25 yards. pigeons out to 30 yards. all in under 200. love it as I treat it like **** and it still wants to play;)

Fisheruk
Hatsun 9000 will easily fit you requirements
Robertt
As stated another £100 or so would be better. Gunwatch has a scoped TX200 at £275. I would imagine that would be good squirrel medicine.
