CThomas
Hi Guys, I'm looking to attend The game fair at Ragley hall this july, was wondering if any of you have been in previous years and what are your thoughts? was looking to head there in the camper and make a weekend of it, can you really spend a weekend there? is there plenty to see and do? i don't want to book a weekends camping and be wanting to pack up after day 1 Edited April 24, 2018 by CThomas
steve_b_wales
I went there for a day,2 years ago. Plenty of guns etc on show for sale. An enjoyable day out but I couldn't do 2 days. I intend going this year, but mainly because of the free entry offered by BASC.

Redm0002
There are a lot of trade and manufacturers stalls obviously covering guns, clothing, vehicles, specialised H&S equipment, as well as food and drink stands and artisan food and drink suppliers. You have an events arena with scheduled demonstrations and displays and experts giving talks on various topics. BASC and CPSA are represented. If you take your gun there is the Clay Line which includes a Sporting Shoot, Pool shoots and maybe a 'High Pheasant' challenge. I'm not sure I could spend two days there but the camping fee is not going to be extortionate so you are not going to lose much if you go home on the second morning. Especially as you get in for free if you are a BASC member.

steve_b_wales
We'll have to arrange a PW members meet up for those who are going on the Saturday.☺
BritishShooting
I'll be there with the father and mother in law on the saturday. Mrs is most likely working so saves me buying her a ticket I suppose. I didn't mind last years at all, I quite enjoyed it. I think the Game Fair offer plenty of food, entertainment, shooting and shops, it's as good a day out as you make it. I noticed priority parking within the Game Fair itself is £40.00 I think I'll walk from the normal parking area this year. I'm up for meeting some members, My father in law is the tightest rich bloke I know, he'll be hunting food samples and freebies for the majority of the day so i'll peel off as it's painful. The Mighty Prawn
Think Saturday for me, I’m shopping for a .223 so even though if there’s no bargains I can at least get my hands on a good range and see what they feel like. is there much reloading gear there? JohnfromUK
Visited today. No traffic problems getting in (early). Didn't hear of any others having had problems. No queues to get in. Parking well organised, BASC 'free' ticket worked fine (thanks BASC). Fairly well laid out, nice wide aisles, and reasonably signposted, plenty of maps up on boards. Fishing village very thin - few stands there, but elsewhere, much as expected - possibly slightly fewer than last year? As always loads of places/choices to eat, but all pretty expensive. Had breakfast with friends in the James Martin Game Fair restaurant - expensive, but excellent fast service, good food, and copious top ups of tea/coffee/orange juice. No problem getting seats to have a drink/coffee/eat around the show. Came away fairly early and again, no traffic problems at all. Overall a nice day out, but without the BASC ticket would have been a pretty expensive day.
