Mungler
Random I know, but has anyone here had any fitted and if so any hints, tips or tricks? Also a price indication would be great, I don’t know if we’re talking £1000 or £10,000. Round my way cars are going off driveways every night; we check the CCTV once in a while when one gets lifted Nearby and on average there’s someone on the drive and looking at the cars once a week. They have masks and hoodies and aren’t bothered by flood lights or cctv. It’s a combination of lack of policing and the local authority in their infinite wisdom turning all the streetlights off at night. Anyways, I’m seeing loads of driveways with these bollards springing up and wondered what the score was. Ta very.

Ta very. £10,000 for electric driveway bollards and £1000 for driveway electric bollards sound about right I would imagine. I'll get me coat. figgy
Shame you can't just shoot them like in the states. Best get quotes from.lical companies. Knock on doors and ask the owners about yhem. Some will be good and trouble free, I'd guess some will be carp. Stonepark
About £2,000 plus fitting per bollard.
Mungler
I might get some plastic drainpipe and make a look a like 😝
GingerCat
You can get manual ones for a lot less. Once saw one lift a car up and then drop it as the chap pressed the wrong button. I howled with laughter as it limped into the yard before cutting out. A sensor needed resetting and the car was fine. Impressive really as it was lifted 4 feet easy. Westley
Forget the bollards and electrify the cars ? I remember many years ago the local farmer got fed up with every weekend, someone trying to steal his old Ford Escort van. He would find the doors unlocked and some idiot or other had tried to start it. He removed the rotor arm to stop the theft but suffered damage to door locks and ignition switch. He made his own anti-theft device by using a sheet of thin plywood, this he completely filled with carpet tacks, redressing all of the points after knocking them through. He then covered it with a thin piece of sponge and placed the entire thing inside a cushion cover. This was then placed on the drivers seat and the vehicle locked. When I went the next morning to take a report of attempt theft of motor vehicle, he showed me his 'car alarm' ! The cushion, the seat (plastic covered back then) and the drivers door trim were all covered in blood, a LOT of blood. We never caught anyone BUT his vehicle remained untouched afterwards. grrclark
A PIR activated flame thrower would do the trick, although the neighbourhood cats, foxes and free roaming dogs might object. Seriously however, poor state of affairs if scrotes in your drive every week casing your motors and the law does heehaw! My fear would be they tan your house in spite of not being able to steal the car.

screamingdead
I had a Lift Assist Telescopic Bollard installed when the driveway was block paved. About £630 for the hardware. It's a manual bollard but is easy to set because of the lift assist.

Be better if they were power fqil safe or had a battery backup or manual release switch hidden somewhere
silver pigeon69
A colleague has a manual one, that a car reversed into and bent over a bit! Enough to stop it going down. He couldn't get his car out yesterday.

Pistol p
Cheaper to buy your own wheel clamp and lock.
Paddy Galore!
they do pedal boxes for vans, so the scrotes can't drive them away. I don't think it'd be too hard to get something made up for a car, just need a very good padlock but as has been mentioned already, it's likely they do something unmentionable in your car just to spite you for it Edited January 22, 2020 by Paddy Galore!
