JJsDad
It varies from county to county. Best idea is to give your firearms dept a ring or check their website.
kenholland
mine sent me a letter in December , then another letter to say it is still ongoing just have to take your turn, usually 6 to 8 weeks before it is up.
Danger-Mouse
Mine took over 3 months but that's S. Yorks. Nonetheless, if you go early they can't complain you were late submitting it.
Walker570
It will not be long before you put the renewal in with the application. Really is pathetic.

sam triple
Mine expires in May so sent it off beginning of Jan just in case ,hadn't heard anything by end of Jan so I emailed them to see what was happening got a reply saying they had received application and it would be processed and a new one sent before old one expires ,seems Hampshire have pulled their fingers out compared to previous years

Gonk
GMP is 8 weeks , I put mine in 7 weeks and 6 days before, computer says no so I've been emailed to put guns in storage before current one runs out !!!
sam triple
just had the police on the phone license done and in the post not due to be renewed until May , so it took 10 weeks
Smokersmith
I've got my visit tomorrow, so hoping I've not got to move my guns over the weekend ... Will be tight though as it runs out on 11th. Getting the GP's letter to the police was the delay.

I am with Westmids/Staffs, FAC/SGC both tickets were late by 6 weeks, after phoning and telling them my concerns they issued temporary tickets so no need to put into storage. Why could GMP not do the same?
Gonk
I was delayed in submitting waiting for GP letter , they said it's less than 8 weeks to renewal date.
sam triple
All they said on the phone was " as I hadn't had a visit in 10 years was there any alterations made " said id moved cabinets to another brick built wall and added a larger cabinet reply was " oh that's ok license in the post " , not a mention from police about GP , or any contact from my GP regarding it or any form of payment
