Until the chief medical officer and his staff say it’s lifted

just out of interest are you working?

But when they say it’s ok to go out (and they have just started), then what for you?

And yes, I have had to go to work. I’d rather be sitting on my backside in the garden being paid free government money though 😆

Reception year 1 & 6 planning on going back to school, but if you've got other kids in different years you be able to return to work.

The spend as much time outdoors as you like is surely going to be chaos.

I expected either nothing different or something more structured??

I have to go to work Also and the guidelines and protocols make it a loss financially

it does hack me of when I see car parks to beaches rammed and large groups socialising

Because scully my old mucker "sorry thats more north west than north east" . You have answers for your own life but not others. You might not infect a living soul in your work, but we are looking at 1/4 million cases nearly, and watching lifted lockdowns in other countries showing rising tolls, and yet we are contemplating lifting restrictions here and stood in lines outside B&Q . Stood next to one another buying plants and out in the sun at the coat. its frustrating to say the least.

I do not want to be locked down forever, but the fact SOME are deciding no one can stop them breaking guidelines they selfishly go about their business doing what they want. We are not only looking at no end to this, but the distinctly unenviable task of, having to suffer more infections, and possibly our own safety at risk just because of a bunch of people who don’t want the government telling them what to do on a nice spring day.

Sorry but call me old fissioned if you like, but i think its Wrong. That people should behave this way, we all live in this society. We are led by the government we should follow the letter of the law exactly. Not cheery pick the parts we feel palatable and ignore the rest.

The number of infections could fall if we isolate, has many have been, but the fact is not all have, or have been fudging avoiding guidance because they can.

Its  unlikely we will all get onside with this, disappointing yes but not entirely unexpected. But really i am of the opinion "if you agree with me or not is of no consequence to me". that some of us need to try harder .

We can not make it to a vaccine i doubt. So its get with the plan folks,  or accept the deaths . ?  I feel the latter is the way its going to go. Just not feeling the compliance / will to beat this.

All said in honeyed tones in a broad Lincolnshire accent . Just in case you pin the mad professor badge on me again.

It's ok I'm from the NW.

It's not up to me to find answers for the way others lead their lives, and nor should it be. They'll have to think for themselves.

It's really very simple. What you have to think about is bringing the virus home. If you believe, that by whatever you're doing, is going to increase the risk of bringing the virus home to your wife, parents, kids or whatever, then don't do it. If you have to go out to work or whatever, then take every precaution you can to ensure you don't bring that virus back home. Wear gloves and a mask if you want, but give some serious thought to how and when you remove them. Use hand sanitiser, or failing that wash your hands at every opportunity if you're not sure. It really is that simple.

If others can't think for themselves and need baby-sitting by the state then perhaps they should just stay at home. We're supposed to be responsible adults, and shooters even more so. If you have a brain then use it, if you haven't then stay at home.

As an aside, my OH has just reached the stage I did some weeks ago and switched off the news whilst mid rant! 😀

It seemed sensible to me.

Spend as much time as you like outside.

Still observe social distancing.

Play sports with members of your own household.

If you can't work from home you need to get back to work.

Fines for those breaking social distancing have gone up.

Yr R, 1 and 6 maybe back 1st June. Maybe some shops.

Some hospitality back 1st July, as long as social distancing can be observed.

The above may change based on what happens with the numbers.

My missus entire family, bar her all had a family gathering for one of her nieces birthday's yesterday.

I've had as little to do with them as I can over the last 5 years or so, they're not that bad but I just don't do family, especially other people's.

They have a group chat on WhatsApp and she gave them all a gob full afterwards, been quiet on that front today.

The excuses ranged from 'I'm not living my life scared of this disease' to 'none of us have any symptoms'.

I think she's grateful for how anti social I am now 😂

They know there’s going to be a massive bundle or sorts - they want to see how that one pans out. If it works then it’s game on for easing more restrictions.

The current research shows outside transmission is greatly reduced so its a sensible first step.

Well I am quite happy on the basics outlined tonight. I still intend to isolate but at least a day or two a week I can have a drive out to a nice quiet place for a walk and a change of scenery.  Also if clay shooting starts up again can do that, but maintaing personal safety of course. Under those circumstances I could keep isolation going for months, no problem.

All the kids should be going back quickly. Tomorrow if I had my way. They are getting in my nerves being at home and I pay the school to teach them at school not at home.

I have, a daughter in year 9 and a son in year 11(I think as they are called something different).  Son hasn’t left his room for about 8 weeks, is now wearing a head band and stopped shaving  he looks like Tom Hanks in the film Castaway. Even they admit that they need to be back

Also the lockdown seems to be driven by the situation in care homes. But care homes are in strict lockdown so how does what goes on in the outside world affect them.

and there was me worried about the infection reaching parents from their children how silly of me you must all have a ventilator handy lol

Unlikely if you are fit and healthy. More chance of dying in car crash.

Then keep any vulnerable grandparents at home and locked away if you want. Get kids back at school and the parents working. But we can’t because Boris bottled it.
