Theyre 'not sure'

Is there any point in getting vaccinated if you’ve already had Covid?

“I had Covid-19 six weeks ago, so I might be immune, or I might not. I have no idea whether there is any point in getting vaccinated.” Bill Dixon, retired physics teacher, Madrid.

So far, vaccine trials have focused on people who haven’t been exposed to the coronavirus, so the effect of vaccination on people who have been exposed is unclear. However, since immunity to the virus seems to wane over time, it probably would be worth getting vaccinated. “The level of immunity from natural infection is really variable, so some people get a very strong immune response, and some people get quite a weak immune response,” said Shattock. “The vaccine would top up your immune response, and hopefully provide protection for longer.”

Even once people have been vaccinated, it is possible that they will require additional booster doses to keep their immunity topped up.

Im by no means advocating not having the vaccine by any means.

But the level of clarity on this particular matter is quite shocking.

Maybe its all a rehearsal for when the big one is released. :innocent:

Softening us up for the more lethal version ?

We dont have a terrorist threat anymore as IS are apparently that scared of covid , they have ceased operations, plus the environment 'crisis' that we only had 12 months to deal with has been put on hold 😆
How about a big scary disease to keep us in fear ?

Rigid measures to combat the 0.1 % mortality rate, and a mandatory vaccine to keep the pharma shares healthy for the forseeable.

In my 53 years , I have never seen such fear, anger and division, and measures like these inflicted on the populace.
On one side you have grateful acceptance of the 'new normal' and everything it entails.
On the other,  anger and disbelief at how easily we gave up our freedoms.

Hi , has anyone had letter telling them when to go for the injection and if so who sent it ? the reason I ask is whilst speaking to my GPs  receptionist this morn I asked when they would be sending out the letters to which she replied it would not be them or the NHS sending out the letters the covernment would inform people when and where  , on the BBC 1 oclock news today their Health Correspondent said GPs would inform patience ! i'm at loss at what to do being 72 and also having asbestoise in both lungs .

Apparently Boris will be doing it all single handed! You will get a personal call from him telling you where to go and when!

I suspect it will be the GP’s who notify you and the receptionist was just fobbing you off.

And so he should , look how many people hes personally killed !

Image may contain: 1 person, text that says 'Richard Burgon MP @RichardBurgon Yesterday Boris Johnson said "schools are safe". Today he said they were "vectors for transmission". His Government's failure on covid has caused tens of thousands of avoidable deaths. He is unfit to be Prime Minister.'

You know the opposition are scaping the bottom of the barrel , when they try to make political capital out of tragedy.

Would the hysterical Mr Burgon like to quantify how many lives could have been saved if BJ WASNT prime minister at the start of 2020 ?
Would it be 'tens of thousands' ?
Part sad , part sickening to hear such tripe, especially from the oily Burgon, who has literally done nothing while being an MP, except bitch about how bad the tories are.

This.  He is a particularly unpleasant individual.

Locally, it is the Doctors practices.  Quite a number of the over 80's have had the first jab locally - and I hear that several old peoples homes have also been done.

Our local practice has a FB page for announcements.

Today's  -  Saturday will see the last of the ambulant over 80s done as well as some FL health workers.  They are hoping for OX/AZ vaccine early next week to do the "at home" vaccinations.

Our surgery are also prioritising some other front line 'community healthcare' staff; I received the following text:

"Message from XXX XXX Surgery. Due to new guidance from NHSE, if you work in a community healthcare professional role, you may be eligible to have a COVID-19 vaccination as part of the early cohorts. This includes, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists, private practitioners etc. Please contact the surgery on XXX XXX after 10:00am on Monday 4th January, to inform us of your occupation and we will book an appointment for you at the earliest opportunity. Please ignore this message if it does not apply to you. Thank you."

There was something about people not showing up for vacations on one of the many threads and now the kids are off to bed the Mrs just showed me this.

20210108_201621.jpg.16332f40639aea911084faac481a8144.jpg

This got mentioned because one of the kids parents works at a local hospital and was saying about the numbers not turning up for jabs or being late, not wanting to wait around?

I couldn't believe it,  what else is there to do at the moment, if you've been told you can have a jab it must be because you are old, vulnerable or NHS or care staff.

Nop, but they do ask you if you have had any CV symptoms in the previous week.

Would Sir like a clean needle or join the other queue for the same needle shuffle?

All very well at the front of the queue, but a blunt needle will be painful!

At home image.gif.cc8a5a473638e0afc65d0f9bb325708c.gif   --  Yes, It may surprise you but there are some in our rural community that are not able, for a variety of reasons. to make the near 30 mile round trip to a centre with the facilities for the jab.

I was hoping they would get us all lined up in the carpark   -  This year that is effectively what they did for the flu jabs  2 nurses in the practice doing 1 each every 2 minutes and 2/3 admin staff logging in in a marque in the car park.  Usually done in village hall but closed  this year.

Lad at work had his Flu jab this way, said they just drove up, gave his details and stuck his arm out the window.

I thought they would do the same with the vaccination,  even if people then go and park up in case of any reaction.

I guess that will be how they roll it out after they have finished with the over 50's 🙂

As I am a front line worker going out to peoples homes and into hospitals regularly to assess people I have been told I am a priority to have the vaccine and my details given to the local health board, although have not heard anything yet.

Last week I only knew of NHS staff and friends who have vulnerability who have had the jab. Good for them they should be getting it!

I have sadly also heard of some NHS workers who have absolutely no contact with anyone who have also already had the vaccine, because they used their status to jump the queue.

Have had many friends in their early 30’s have the virus and been very very unwell, unable to climb the stairs even.

Hoping to get the vaccine before catching it!
