The wind is beginning to die down here to the west of Peterborough.

A lot of poorly restrained wheely bins seem to have decided to attempt to escape.

No fences or trees down around here so far!

It should be an interesting drive in to work this evening.

My lads boss told them all that they'd be sticking close to home today because of the weather warnings , then sent him up to Wales in a Luton van to fit two gas cookers 🙄.

I'll bet that was fun 😳😳

Just had the kitchen delivered with no drama,  they'd just done a delivery in Blackpool and said the sea was blasting up over the road.

I'm not exactly shy when it comes to driving , and I'll pretty much take anything ,  anywhere,  in any conditions,  but I'd have thought twice before driving to wales in a Luton van today .

Yep. He's a decent driver , but very inexperienced in anything other than cars . He's only been driving vans for a few weeks,  and really doesn't understand how the wind will effect a light and high sided vehicle.

Surprised any are running, BBC News were reporting through the night that trains were not running throughout Friday. I hope she gets home safely.

Made me chuckle when again the BBC are spouting "don't travel unless absolutely necessary, stay home, be safe.

I had to travel to get home!

Thankyou, she’ll be fine. Travelling on to Bedford after that for a concert!
I think a lot of BBC news is capital orientated, that’s the impression I get anyhow.
Quite, if OH and I don’t travel we don’t work!

We had a 10 minute power cut just after 10am and then back on for a couple of minutes, then we've been off all day.  I have a couple of tractor batteries charged by a small solar panel. Using the batterries I'm running an inverter. Supplying me power for the router, phone, pad chargers and some lighting ect. If by tomorrow we've still no got no electric the genny will have to be gotten out to recharge the fridge and the freezer.  The wind came suddenly with force and tomorrow I will have to go and hunt down the heavy teak table  and chairs which have been moved around the garden, two long sections of next doors fence are in our garden and she just looked and then drove off to her blokes place. They'll be carefully put over into her garden tomorrow preferably right down the path to the house so that she has to walk over them. Or else they'll still be in my garden beds come mid summer. Roll on global warming. The wind is dying down now.
