Its all gone quite on this one.  What's the latest.

I don't think there will be much update until DNA results come through. These murders happened long before I was born but I've always thought it such a shame that this boy was never found. Kind of drew parallels to "the disappeared" that we have in northern ireland

Well that's what I thought, but it turns out the only evidence was a photo taken by Russell Edwards of what looked like a childs jaw bone, guess we will have to wait and see.https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/police-issue-update-after-third-25159905

Manchester Evening News understands it will take a week to a fortnight to establish whether any remains discovered are those of Keith”

I think that means if any remains are discovered.

Very odd report from the Police.

Quote

Ms Hughes said GMP would conduct the search 'in the most thorough way possible' and confirmed that no physical evidence of a skull or jaw bone had been examined. The Manchester Evening News understands it will take a week to a fortnight to establish whether any remains discovered are those of Keith.

Have they examined or intend to examine what was photographed? If it isn't human remains, what is it?

It is a bit confusing, do they actually have any bones/skull/jaw bone?

If he can't produce the bone, he should be charged with wasting Police time. If he has produced it, why are the Police talking gibberish?

'bout sums it up...........tis gibberish..........certainly noticed over the last few mths/years there has been some awful gibberish spouted by the media and personnel employed by various ogs' to represent them.......

heard a classic one last night ...as a result of someone how dosnt check facts...was reporting that during the height of the herring years they were landing 3 million tones/day at lowestoft...............total and utter garbage

is it.................bizarre ...how interesting

He wrote a book naming one Aaron Kosminski on the basis of traces of partial DNA found on a shawl worn by murder victim Catherine Eddowes. His logic was pretty shaky since the shawl had been taken away by the police and handled by many people. Kosminski might have handled the shawl at some point or the police who questioned him several times could have contaminated the shawl with his DNA.

It gets more bizarre, this was taken from an interview with Russell a few days ago.

Speaking, Russell said: “We were looking for elements in the summer that shouldn’t be there and on that assessment, we got calcium, phosphorus and magnesium, so evidence of skeletal remains. It was me that actually found that spot through seven years of relentless work. On the day we found what looked like material, hair, and tissue, that’s what’s left in the body outside of the skeleton and we took a sample of that and gave it to the police.”

Russell went on to explain that an archaeologist confirmed that the teeth discovered in the jaw bone matched someone who was of similar age to Keith as it only had one molar.

If I remember I think there was some mention of a skull in another news report.

The other odd thing is Russell and his team where doing their search in the summer when they made their discovery, why did they not call the police on the day they found the jaw bone? I know I would.

Well today the police are saying there is still no evidence of human remains at the site pointed out by Russell.

It does seem unbelievable that he would make such a story up but so far there is little evidence to back his story up.
