I'm local to one targeted area, and when some major routes are closed, the entire area's roads get absolutely gridlocked !!! These people are getting arrested, but it doesn't appear to be putting them off disrupting thousands of people's lives (not literally), daily routines and affecting untold businesses, costing how much ?! This sort of demonstrating is not the way forward,,,, it's only creating contempt and animosity towards these clueless idiots !!!! JohnfromUK Posted November 8, 2022 Report Share Posted November 8, 2022 If we assume that there is a real problem with rising CO2 (and not all agree to that), the UK - on a global scale - is a very small part of the overall current emissions, and has taken quite (and is still taking more) a lot of measures to reduce CO2 output still further. Other much larger and MUCH more heavily populated countries emit FAR FAR more CO2, and many countries that have in the past not been all that big emitters and rapidly growing their emissions as the population increases are they become more 'developed'. If they protested there (and I'm thinking China, Russia, India mainly) they would not get the police offering them tea, and the judge wishing them well (as he/she supports their cause) and a gentle sentence. All blocking the M25 (and others busy routes) does is annoy people who are generally quite CO2 sensible, and waste tons of CO2 whist they are sat in traffic jams!
