I cannot believe these people actually get paid for talking such twaddle.

It's actually scary when you consider where they sit within the senior Civil Service and the function they are charged with carrying out.

But, and it's a big but, it explains a lot about what is going wrong and why

Exactly, except they are senior Civil Servants in charge of processing migrant applications.

But definitely incompetent and obstructive.

And, unlike the private sector where management can get rid of an employee for incompetence or failure to meet agreed performance levels, you can’t get rid of Civil Servants be they central or local government.

Indeed, obstructive union protection has been our downfall.

As regards not being able to sack, fire or otherwise get rid of staff who are not doing their job that is not the case.  I worked in the CS for many years and people were sacked. fired etc at all levels for incompetence, not doing their work as required of them.  That is why they have such a strong union presence in the work setting.  But, even then the union will not blindly protect someone if they are not doing their work/job due to incomptence, lack of ability or lack of knowledge.  The one factor is if they have not been trained through a reccognised CS training programme for the job/work they are being paid for.  Sorry to point the above out, its just that criticism of CS has always been the easy opt out.  That guy giving the non answers should be booted out now.  He is not doing his job merely fire fighting with smoke and mirrors and he should be held to account.  He is a disgrace to the CS at what ever level.

I believe that in frustrating the Committees enquiries they are committing a sackable offence. It's in the Civil Service Code.

Probably but it's more of a sad window into the real attitude and the lazy culture within the home office. Clearly nobody is actually getting on with sorting these migrants out. They are not even trying.

The trouble is these senior civil servant wield more clout than the ministers they are supposed to be serving.

Suella Braverman when she was Secretary of State said the Home Office was not fit for purpose. They gave her the runaround and blocked her attempts to get to grips with the migrants problem.  She didn't last long when they decided she was too keen.

Not surprising really though is it. I have just seen in the news about that 26year old migrant who pushed that bloke on the tube track . Apparently he already had 21 offences with 10 convictions. Should have been deported ages ago .

We are laughing stock.

Saw this today - sort of nails it really.

Is it all part of the plan?
