During Browns election campaign (20 plus tears ago) a woman voter asked about immigration , Brown turned to her and called her a racist and this stopped the debate dead in its tracks He wasn,t interested in the voters concerns but his own agenda

Great example.

Even then, for the intellectually superior living in the nice post codes miles away from the issues, it was grubby and of ‘low status’ to voice any opinion against or in opposition to mass immigration (badged as the modern ‘benefit to all’ of multiculturalism).

My oh my, how that’s aged…

Indeed, imagine what could have been if any politician since had actually paid the slightest bit of attention to the electorate; we wouldn’t be staring populism in the face right now for starters.

I don’t agree. In simple terms I get the impression that he appeals to three types:

1. Those who are unable to think for themselves

2. Those who are too lazy to think for themselves

3. Those who are infatuated with an anti-Muslim agenda

In some cases I suspect a combination of the above is at play.

Wow, that is a rude, condescending comment to make against folk who just have a different opinion to you. There are many people on this forum that have an ability to question things that don't add up and long may that continue.

I do not get why the so called            "educated liberal elite" cannot see what this country has become and especially where it is heading at a fast pace, when I and other less educated plebs see the obvious overturning of our culture and way of life and worse.

I dread to think that all this is by design as opposed to a blinkered view, I am however coming around to this way of thinking.

It must be by design as we are well past the point of stupidity and ignorance?

There’s an agenda to pursue. One of global ( or at the least European ) multiculturalism. Anything we experience are ‘teething problems’ and  acceptable and to be borne for ‘the greater good’.

Agreed. Raja missed off option 4 - those with a brain. I suspect it was a deliberate omission.

You put that much better than I would have, most of us here are very aware there are a few on here with opposing views however those with the opposing views live in a very different world to most of us. They are all self important , self righteous and pompous in there manner whereas most of us bite our lip because we had a better upbringing.

If there were no people on here with opposing views, I would likely get a lot more work done

I enjoy the banter, I learn things, and whether they live in a different world or not, the forum would be pretty boring if they werent there.

Its all good, and nothing personal :good:

I suspect it’s more a case of people deciding it’s better to remain silent and considered a fool rather than speaking up and removing all reasonable doubt.

Better upbringing, yeah right.

I think we'd all get along a lot better face to face. The human element tends to get lost over the Internet and like Rewulf says above, I enjoy opposing views, providing they are made in an at least semi respectful manner.

I actually quite miss Henry Ds contributions, I can't say I agreed with him much, but it was certainly an interesting insight into another persons views of the world 😵💫

In short PW would be a much duller place without some polite disagreement.

Agreed although I try to live by the mantra of not writing things online that I wouldnt say to someone’s face.

Post edited, to make it more clear.

When someone runs out of valid argument they turn to personal insults.
