  1. You really know how to hurt a girl WB - miss that gun every time I open my cabinet but I'm happy that she has gone to a good home, doubt that I would ever have found the time to use her as God intended.....few pics might be nice .Apologies for wondering off topic OP - but I'm sure you will enjoy the pics if WB is kind enough to share.
  2. How can they take an absence of information into consideration? Are they saying that they are able to assume that you have problems if nobody has declared otherwise? Nobody has ever written down that I am not an Alien but that does not mean that the police can assume that I am?
  3. Good job you don't have a Range Rover - mine has a full size spare but it is almost impossible to get it out without getting a hernia-the car has a kind of band that loops around it and is supposed to help lift it out but, my god, it's heavy - the jacks are also famous for being unable to lift the weight of the vehicle.
  4. Something has obviously gone wrong here WB - in true PW style we should argue for days on end throwing insults and pedantic nit picking comments till we get the thread blocked - but we have avoided such behaviour and shown ourselves to be mature and respectful ( even if you are a bit more mature than me ) - I am honestly glad that you are delighted with your choice of Airgun but they are not for me.
  5. Interesting. Half of your reply focuses on anything but the pointless "bells and whistles" that many Daystates wear. As for your Wolverine - that's just your opinion, which you are very welcome to of course, but has no actual factual bearing.
  6. Mine never packed up in the rain and the trigger was to die for whilst the Batteries could be replaced with a little DIY - but these features are still superfluous in the field - PLENTY of PCP'S will do the exact same job at a fraction of the cost. My MK3 was (I believe) the first readily available Airgun to top the £1k mark - it was inaccurate, constantly jammed (Belas also knew of this issue on the earlier offering but Daystate never issued a recall or repair)and, under the shroud, the barrel looked like a piece or wrought Iron. I enjoyed the gun for a while but I could not justify having to molly coddle the thing constantly out in the field where letting me down several times made me sell it - practically had to give it away and was bought by some chap who was going to strip it for parts .
  7. I would shop around - no doubt that (being aimed at the ladies) there will be one with your name on it at twice the price along with ones that make you look younger or appear smarter, be swimming in liposomes or bred in a vat of free range bio yoghurt - the ones they push all depends on the make of your handbag.
  8. Electronic triggers - reflex moderators (Belas recently admitted on HOTAIR that they never really worked) - digital readout - shrouded barrel (that then needed a mod to silence) - just off the top of my head, bought an adaptor direct from them once to fit a mod to a MK3 and it had been machined over 1/2mm off centre - rang them only to be told that they were all like that and that they knew but were still selling them. Beginner at 43 years using Airguns but after owning their (at the time) Flagship model I would never dream of buying another, only my opinion of course and not shared by you but we all speak as we find and I am glad that you are happy with yours .
  9. If Energy companies are really interested in saving us all money why not supply LED light bulbs instead of pointless meters?
  10. What you need is a sister who lives in the states - mine just brought me back a nice Hoppes.17hmr cleaning kit - £15.50 from the states (Wallmart).
  11. By no means an expert on the .17hmr but my Annie will shoot one hole ragged groups at 100 yards - occasional flyer but most likely me - if you buy a box of Hornady and they seem to cure the problem then go back and buy as many as you can from the same batch/dealer.
  12. did you sell the rws?

  13. Anything by Tom Sharp - you will be hooked.
  14. Not correct at all spandit, my RR is 14 yo and is almost immaculate - most likely due to the Oil leaking from the engine being constantly sprayed over the paintwork.
  15. My Spaniels are eating as well as ever - no expert but if he's not feeling like eating after a days work I (and being a Lab!!) then I would be paying the vet a visit. Could he be drinking foul water from wherever you are working him?
  16. Dekers - I shoot over VERY public spaces where members of the public have free access 24/7 - summer is the busiest time for people to be wondering around the Woods so the Squirrel control (under advice from the local council H&S Team and the Police) is restricted to , roughly, end of August till end of April when A / the woods are seeing fewer visitors & B / when it's out of breeding season
  17. Nuff about blatting Nutty now - bout 6 weeks till my season on them starts again (hope they bred well) so I'm counting the minutes - fitness is better than this time last year so, at the moment, I'm looking forward to beating last years 49 - not covered a fraction of the land so maybe I will shake some trees in different woods and see what falls out.

    Gin

Many thanks Yellow Bear - bought a bottle of Hortus from Lidl today and it's a belter .
  19. Report it to Environmental Health? You might as well report it to McDonalds - had the same problem 3 years ago (still on going) and EH are about as much use as a one legged man at a Butt kicking party.
  20. Pop down to Aldi and buy a couple of boxes of sugar free Butterscotch sweets - once your neighbours are out start feeding them thru the door - 4-5 a day should soon have them wondering why they ever bought a Dog in the first place .p.s - this also works on people.
  21. If as much thought went into the whole gun as the safety catch then I would avoid the thing.
  22. Quick Google search says that Grizedale is managed by the Forestry Commission.

    world cup

I'm no great Football fan but from where I'm standing I would say that Croatia didn't win last nights game - we lost it. We only got to the semi's because of other countries being unusually knocked out and I cannot recall any particular England performance that made them look like World Cup Winners.
  24. There are loads of Forums that cover your car and some of the members have an amazing amount of experience and are more than willing to share/help - Landyzone seems quite good and you might find recommendations for local LR specialists.
  25. Decent oil for your car is around £40 + £10 for the filters so £50 parts if you did her yourself - with Halfords buying power they would get the Oil cheaper so they could have made around £30 on the job. Did they stamp your service book? - if so then the service schedule would indicate that both Filters should be changed and by stamping your book they are on thin ice. p.s. quick look on various forums seems to suggest that the centrifugal filter has no specific service interval but "usually" gets changed at least once every 2 normal filter changes. I don't think it works like a paper element so should not release contaminated oil into your system.
