Good advice from AVB -shop around for a solicitor. You might also consider looking into which type of survey is best for you.

Ambi stock as well

The retailer here is the "expert" and ,as such, their advice must carry some kind of benefit. If your wife was advised by this shop to buy online but was not warned of the reduced returns limit then I think they should be liable for any shortcomings due to their own intervention. Speak to them and let them know that you are willing to go down the small claims route if they insist on their current stance.

Is it choked considerably tighter? If not then 10 minutes with a coach should sort you out - don't get overanxious about it.

A totally uncalled for and aggressive post in response to Fortune giving his opinion and the reason he has come to such a conclusion. I am not going to get drawn into a pointless ping pong of insulting posts so don't bother responding with venom (although I no doubt that you will) - I will not bother responding to any of your posts. Fortune is a long standing and respected member of this forum and your reply was totally out of order.

Just found out that BSA started making 12g SxS shotguns in 1920 so I was 2 years out - your gun dates from 1920 - 25.

Could also need the coolant system bleeding - air gets trapped and the heater matrix is normally the highest point. Does the engine warm up slower than it used to?

1904 - 25 going by the Proof marks. One of my books suggests that the 120 Steelhouse business began around 1917 - if correct then your gun was made 1917-25 - with the War I would suggest that after 1918 would be a wise assumption so 1918 - 25?

Love mine - straight home from work, strap on ma rig and yee - haw onto my daughters Rocking Horse and away with the Fairies - sometimes naked but for the Chaps on my thighs

Before you invest in anything might I suggest that you actually get permission first? If you do get the go ahead then just about anything will do the job - using an Air Rifle is unlikely to rid the farm of it's vermin cos they're not daft - there are daft Rats and there are Old Rats but you will not find any Old Daft Rats. If there is an abundance of the blighters then they will breed quicker than you can hope to shoot them so best you can hope for is a good bit of sport. Removing their source of food is the only answer but then any Farmer worth his Salt knows that. Good luck - if you do get the green light then a trip to your GP for a Tetanus Jab might be wise.

The problem seems to arise from Winter....this must be because we never know when its coming....one minute it's Autumn then ......

Our cardboard box was repossessed.

Quite a few downloadable manuals on the Benelli site - or you could email them?

The "junior" refers to Lincoln Jeffries ( inventor of the tap loading air rifle) son - Lincoln "parkes" Jeffries who began trading in 1890 - if the address says 120 steelhouse lane then the gun dates from 1898 onwards - as said, the proof marks will help greatly. The collaboration between BSA and Jeffries may have been simply that Jeffries bought guns from BSA and put his own name on them? Damascus? Ej?

Shortening Shot gun stock for Petite Lady
bruno22rf replied to BADGER.BRAD's topic in Guns & Equipment
As a rough guide you can put the butt of the stock in the inside of her arm (with her arm at 90 degrees) and her trigger finger pad should be comfortably on the trigger blade. -
Ring the importer to be sure but I would guess that if the gun is not too old then it should be fine with steel - tighter chokes though would be best avoided.

Some idiot has been firing it without snap caps or cartridges in the breach - normally the cap would stop the firing pin coming into contact with the holes. Also there is normally no return spring on the lower pin and this alone can cause the pin to be "dragged" a little by the cartridge as the gun is opened.

If that ever happened to one of my daughters there would be no place on earth for the guilty to hide when released - being fully aware of the consequences would not bother me in the slightest.

KY? Didn't the legal insistence on foreplay ban the stuff? According to my other half anyway

Mate of mine had his ABS warning light come up after hitting the brakes hard in an emergency - light stayed on and handbook suggested an immediate visit to a BMW dealer, dealer then reckons that the ABS sensor has gone and wants £150 + fitting to sort the problem. With no money to pay we decided to look up the problem on one of the BMW owners sites only to find that, once on, the ABS light has to be reset via the onboard computer - followed the instructions and hey presto light out and problem solved - robbing ********. As for expenses - my SAAB 9-5 has now done 115k and cost me £98 for 2 new tyres about a week ago - apart from the occasional tyres and oil change (£40 with filter) the only other cost was an ignition pack (Vauxhall part !!) about 3 years back which was £300 at the time - you can now get them for half that - never failed to start and flies when you want it to (250bhp) mind you she only does around 27mpg

The work is being carried out by a property maintenance company - all houses are homes for working families and not pensioners. Our local window cleaner does our frames and upvc doors while he does the windows, it's £15 each time - most of the tenants use the same window chap as me so the frames (fitted 3 years ago) are not dirty anyway - in effect the landlord is paying for 3 men to wipe the plastic gutters .
-
Would not have believed it if I had not seen it with my own eyes - team of 3 guys down our road today wiping the upvc window frames and gutters of all the council owned houses - not cleaning the windows per se just wiping the plastic frames. Anyone in Bucks who hears the phrase "it's because of cut backs" please feel free to refer them to me. What budget would the funds come from?, Makes me real keen to pay my council tax now I know the money is being so wisely spent.

bazzab - surely if you use a 5 bladed razor then as the first blade gets blunted the second becomes the main cutting edge and so on until all 5 are no longer comfortable to use? I use Aldi 5 blades with a Razor Pit and change the blades when I get bored.

best ways to avoid colds without avoiding people
bruno22rf replied to wandringstar's topic in Off Topic
kyska - been on them for 11+ years following kidney/pancreas transplant. At first you have to be ultra cautious about avoiding crowds or individuals who you know are not well but over time you have to just get on with it. Cannot remember the last time I got a cough or cold etc but infections from daft objects like a blackthorn in my finger can put me in intensive care if not treated quickly. -

Spoonful of honey first thing in the morning along with a vitamin tablet - at the first sign of a sore throat gargle Whiskey. You should try and be active as much as you can and not avoid going out in cold temps - central heating does not help - try making sure you are getting fresh air in your rooms and leaving a saucer of water above your radiators helps prevent dry air that can cause a cough/sore throat/infection. Might sound strange but I often wonder if a positive mental attitude helps?? I have to be careful because of immunosuppressants that I take so you are not alone.
