Last day of term kids do nothing. But if they want to force the issue you could offer to bring your son back a day early after the summer hols - on "Teacher Training Days" - what an absolute joke that is.....ours went on a jolly to the theatre last year and the year before was spent learning relaxation techniques at a yoga school.

Am I right in thinking that the eggs and young of ALL species of wild bird are protected by law whilst in the nest - would this mean that shooting, say, a pigeon on the nest was an illegal act?

Our local Chippy started doing Kebab's about 2 years ago - he reckons that it has doubled his takings.

The Landowner would know surely? BTW - if you want to clear Rabbits then the .22lr using subs and a mod is the way to go.

It might be wise to ring the police the next few times that you go and simply ask for a "u r n" (unique reference number) so that they know you are there - it's also really useful in situations that you encountered if you can inform the idiot abusing you that the Police are fully aware that you are there - normally shut's them up - I like to rub it in a bit by then offering them my phone to call the police - try it next time

Bought a 1970's Mountfield 7 (30"" desk) Ride on off fleabay for £170 - brilliant mower and all you have to do is sit there - electric start 7.5 hp mulching deck (even has a headlight)- become my pride and joy and the grass has never been cut so often! She's been named "Blue Cow" and the kids fight over who get's to mow the lawn.

Had my Honda more than 15 years now-the plating on the float bowl is peeling away so every spring I have to remove the bowl and wipe out the residue from the winter's down time-takes about 15 minutes then she runs through the season without missing a beat.

Surely a forum is basically a virtual room full of like minded enthusiasts discussing relative topics - if someone asks you a question you don't tell them to go look in the Library do you?

I visit them all - but Newsnow.co.uk classifieds are also worth searching.

Not a silly thing at all in my opinion - you have sat there for hours on end enjoying nature and no doubt pondering life and it's idiosyncrasies. Don't know about your area but around here (Bucks) it seems that every Landowner has become determined to cut back any hedge over 3 feet tall - looks terrible as it's normally done by simply smashing the branches down with spinning chains and must deprive so much wildlife of food and shelter.

I think the way to look at your BSF is on the understanding that it is more of a collectors piece than a gun to be used for hunting/plinking. I would , personally, avoid any attempt to tune it or "improve" it in any way - you will most likely simply devalue it. Unless you have to use it I would give it a good wipe over with VP90 or similar and put it away somewhere safe - doubt that it will ever depreciate and could prove to be a reasonable earner over time.

I think they normally scam you by sending you an email that looks very much like it's from PP and suggesting that someone has tried using your account or a story along a similar line and they ask you to "sign in" via their link and change your password - easy to fall for. Not sure but I think that you can link a mobile phone to the account so that you get a txt allowing you to verify that a purchase is legit.

Well done Sir! It can be a real pain finding permissions-even more annoying if you can see a plethora of vermin. Some people seem to have a knack though-I used to shoot with a (now banned) member of this very forum who ,it seemed, only had to drive past a Farm to have the owner chasing him down the road begging him to shoot all and sundry on their land.

Your current gun should be easy to repair - just depends on how much you really want another gun . Why not look around for a nice early English Gun that needs a little work and thus get the pleasure of restoring as well as a bargain - loads on Gunstar etc. As for ejectors - cannot really see the point in them, why rush when you are clay shooting? and if you use them out in the field you spend more time looking for the empties than you ever would have done pulling the shells out manually?
-
I seem to recall someone saying that you can hide a mobile phone in your car and simply wire a charger to it connected to a permanent 12v supply - you can then track the SIM for about £10/month?
