washerboy
Just got my Seat Altea back from the dealers, they gave me an Alpha Romeo moto as a curtesy car... everyone needs to drive an alpha to understand how bad they are, underpowered, noisey, bits rattle at anything above 50 mph (only had 10k on the clock), i must be realy spoilt owning a vwg made car. it was a like driving the last of the ford escorts from the late 90;s
Browning 425 clay hunter
If it's the alfa mito it's just a fiat punto in a fancy frock. I've always liked alfa's, although they are notoriously unreliable

stevo_m
I've driven many cars. Worst has to be the Audi A4 estate. Best......and this might surprise you............. My current car.....an Alfa Romeo GT. Loads of power, no rattles and seriously good looking. Got to agree though had a Mito as a curtesy car while mine was having a service (no it hadn't broken down) and yes it was aweful. phaedra1106
Landrover Discovery!, had one as a loan car when my C-Max was smashed into by someone who didn't know how to use a roundabout. Was a Bank Holiday weekend and apart from a Zafira with body damage that I couldn't even fit into (6' 5" and physically disabled) it was all they had, did 2 trips to the caravan and back (100 miles) and used £40 worth of diesel :o , was only about year old but the front clutch was just about gone and was dropping to bits inside. They took it back after the weekend and I got a very nice top spec Chrysler Voyager for the next week, what a huge difference!.
Thunderbird
By far the worst cars I have ever driven are as follows, Mini Metro, Renault 5, and Fiat 126. Though I do have slightly fond memories of the latter as it was the first car I ever drove solo after passing my test.

Gordon R
Drove a mate's wife's car back from the garage - 1 mile - more than enough - new Mini Cooper - absolutely awful. Noisy and impossible to drive slow enough over a speed bump to avoid jarring your spine. Would not have was as a gift.
gixer1
Any vauxhall i've ever driven has been bad - especially the Agila and corsa - awful! - Best would be any Mitsibushi Lancer Evolution has been pin sharp and fantastic power wise, also most BMW's are normally very good (although I could say a bit firm at times) I am really surprised to hear someone say an Audi A4 was bad - mine was great with a punchy diesel PD engine...and also a discovery - I think people forget that a discovery is around 3 ton fuelled and with people! my one is phenomenal for it's handling on the road and wafts along at 80 odd no problem - the only thing i would say is 1st gear is a bit short and they sometimes bog down when pulling from a junction. I have always wanted an Alpha romeo brera - the V6 4wd one or a 149 - but just can't bring myself to risk the reliability issues - alpha certainly make one of the best looking cars and I would say thier black leather interior with red piping is one of the best interiors i've sat in (including comparing it to some top brand exec cars!) the other surprising this is a friend had a P1 subaru impreza which was a fast car but drove like a dog handling wise - the same friend had a WRX version and it was smooth handles well... frankly anyone with a motorbike on here will understand hom mundane they make 90% of cars feel - a modern thousand cc sports bike will do over 100mph in first and top out at around 200! Regards, Gixer

AVB
MG Maestro circa 1986 (I think). Horrid, horrid, horrid. I had very bad taste in those days.
Cranfield
Chrysler 180, 42 faults from new, including air vents fitted back to front, lights not working, interior roof lining not fixed properly, handbrake not connected, etc., etc. The car disappeared back with the Dealer for 2 months (bits coming from Spain) and the majority of the faults were fixed, except a permanent rolling sensation from the suspension and no stabilizer in the fuel tank (so when the tank was half full the red warning light kept flashing). Fortunately, 6 months after I took deliver of it (4 months driving), a tipper truck reversed into the side of it and it was a write-off. I cannot disclose how much I paid the tipper truck driver. That last sentence was a joke.

Catweazle
Worse one, Morris Marina 1.8 4 door, it used to do 360s in the rain for no reason at all. Only bought as a very cheap 1st car, well that's my excuse. I'll second that. Crappy torsion bar suspension, skinny Bakelite tyres, too high for the width. All in all a disaster.
