Hoover went bang bang. Need a new one. Preferably a cylinder as no space in cupboard.

Small 2 bedroom house, mix of carpets, tiles and wooden flooring.

We have a cocker spaniel.

I was thinking Dyson DC39... But happy to hear comments for and against all brands.

Sebo, not cheap, probably around £250, but a quality product with a 10 year guarantee, I know someone that has one almost 30 years old and it's still going strong.

We have a Sebo - still going strong. Not bagless, but that is a plus for me. Less mess to deal with. It has an automatically adjusting head so when you go from carpet to wood floors, it adusts the brush up or down to whichever level is suitable for your carpet or floor.

I think we've had ours for 10 years. Still going strong!

Henry's are great - but don't have a motorised brush head which means it doesn't pick up as much and it's alot more work. It is fine if you just have wood floors though (or a workshop floor).

I recently bought a "Hoover" 2100w dustmaster cyclonic its very good at removing hairs with the beat sweep action, you wont get the same results re hairs with a numatic type vacuum cleaner.

Cant believe we are discussing what type of vacuum cleaner is the best, are we all turning or what.

Now get you cleaner sorted and get back on track.

I find that which ever cleaner you buy , they all end up not being as efficiant once you've had um a few months. 40 years ago, they used to sell a really heavy metal cleaner, door to door they asked you to hoover a mattress before they arrived and then showed you the lbs of crud still sucked out with their product.., i think it was American, it was the dogs do das. If anyone can tell me the make and if they are still going I would be much obliged. They were very expensive but would pull the skin off a cow... from Auntie.
