Barney86
Jerusalm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ0oCmDXrVk Well said that man. First time I've felt a tear run down my face in a long time The one that gets my head nodding: Bob Dylan - Subterranean Homesick Blues The one for taking a step back and having a think: Donovan - Universal Soldier If it wasn't played at so many funerals, I'm sure Amazing Grace would win this argument hands down! Big Al
Bright side of the road. Brilliant choice. Also, Coney Island, by Van the Man. Because I originate from that part of Down and because the pace of the song matches the temprament of the people of the area so well. Relaxed, earthy, tied to the land. Love it. Also "Cleaning windows" by van too. "Song for Ireland" by Mary Black. Emotional and brilliant. I do love Piano man too.
Big Al
Sweet sixteen,by the Furies . Another cracker, but while we're on the Furies, what about "The. Green Fields of France." The futility of war in a song. Not the most cheery, but very inspiring to me.

ayano3
I have loads of best songs ranging from all types of music. I always remember one that was played at a good friends funeral. Maggsy was a big big Man United fan and originated from Old Trafford area of Manchester so it was a bit of a shock when they played the original soundtrack from Carousel by Christine Johnson....You'll Never Walk Alone. I had heard this version but its become a firm favourite via friendship and respect.
