Jaymo
My mrs hates shooting, I hate her Coronation Street But, she watches it and I shoot-- it's all about compromises ( she in fact sewed a patch on my shooting jacket this afternoon which she brought me for Xmas)

Dekers
Beating is only part of the year, plenty of blokes go out with their mates at least once a week anyway. I'll bet most women want girl time anyway. Its all about give and take and harmony, sound like even after 5 years this was simply not meant to be. ATB! Paddy Galore!
i think it's a shame when anything like this happens, you must have loved her once mate. if my missus had an issue with my shooting i'd readily give it up, but then she is an exceptional woman

Sha Bu Le
I think the trick is to find a mutual understanding between both parties! My GF is a TOTAL anti gun believer. I have put my point across on many occasions! From the " You have never used a gun, so how can you judge? " To the " You can't assume, because one man goes beserk with a firearm! That everyone who is licenced is a nut job! " She enjoyed nights out drinking! I then told her there are far more murders, Deaths, and general criminal matters arrise from Alcohol, than from firearms! I wasn't happy for her to go out drinking but didn't stop her! I have sat and listened to HER side of the argument! And in MOST cases have rubbished her claims and views! Some she had a valid point! And I accept that! She has grown to accept I shoot and enjoy the past time! And other shoot related things, such as Beating, fox drives, She has even came into the shooting club house, while I dropped off a few bits for the owner! She has even stopped going out on the drink  She won't eat Game She is standing firm on that principal. Silly really when She has eaten Duck and Goose in the recent past I have tried to bellay any issues she has reguarding the ethical nature of game foods etc! But to no avail. She accepts I shoot and I bring home game! I normally don't waste what I shoot! If I can't eat it I have people who would be happy to take the odd rabbit, pheasant, pigeon and even the odd trout if needs be! This year She was even going to buy me a Shooting Jacket. I told her not to bother! I beat on Saturdays, Then we spend the evening together! I spend pretty much every day with her! We have been dating now for near 8 years. This is the FIRST relationship I have had where I feel comfortable just getting on with what I want. She is supportive in a lot of area's and also in Shoot related depending on the circumstance. After 8 year, we STILL have a bloody good laugh. Infact we are off to the Cinema tonight then off to a Restaraunt afterward! You can have the best of both worlds, when you find the right one She sounds like a keeper
Guest rimotu66
For what its worth you did the right thing, she obviously did not love you as she told you to dump your life as it is or lose her, no woman would do that to someone they truly loved. I am lucky that I have a g'friend who is not into shooting game but she will cook anything I ask her to and would never moan about anything I want to do, she does want to have a go on clays so when I can afford it I will buy a 20g semi for her to use. Lord Geordie
My mrs hates shooting, I hate her Coronation Street But, she watches it and I shoot-- it's all about compromises ( she in fact sewed a patch on my shooting jacket this afternoon which she brought me for Xmas) She bought you a PATCH for christmas? :o Get her in line matey
Jaymo
Well a 'Patch' is better than the lump of coal she usually gets me :-) Nah, she came up with some crackin little bits to go with it, along with 'cooking' a little gift that will arrive in May so can forgive her for anything. Son number two, so in a few years will have one to operate the trap and another to load.....
Shooting2
I'm soon to be 17 and at college and theres no girls around that shoot, are interested in shooting or are even willing to accept that I shoot, to them it's all a cruel sport, but shows the miss conceptions my age group are led to believe via bad press ect ect
fireboy
I have been with my wife for 15 years she is a non meat eater but she dont mind me shooting game or fowl as she says it has a good life till i kill it and it not mass slaughter like the chickens in tesco (what i think she is saying i am a **** shot lol) there is only one condition i have to get the house in order arfter the duck seasson has ended and be for it starts again i think that is a small price to pay for every weekend free for shooting if i wont to go.she said i had to have a choc lab if i wanted a dog as they are cute so i thats what i got it all about meeting in the middle and making shore you have time for each other
