happypig
I would like to know what the PW thought is on this... Would a small radio in the hide effect things? I am not talking about 500db of drum and base, just a little radio2 just loud enough to take the edge off sky watching ....
Tim85
we chat away in the hide so i dont see why not.
motty
Set to the correct frequency, a radio will bring pigeons in from miles around.

fenman99
I thought I was the only one with a radio in the hide, usually on Norfolk or Cambridge depend which county i'm in! Great for getting you through 6 hours in the hide when the mind starts to wander when things go slack. Otherwise I start thinking all the reasons why I shouldn't be there. fenman99 Edited February 19, 2014 by fenman99
malkiserow
It will likely attract cows especially if you play light music.
Mr pigeon
Light music like counting crows or Sheryl crow? ;-)
Tim Kelly
As long as it's radio 4 or test match special then you'll be fine. Musak definitely not allowed. Edited February 20, 2014 by Tim Kelly

I don't use the radio anymore , I've got a constant loop on a CD of corn being poured on to a metal tray, copies are available at £50 +pp

masmiffy
Done this for years! When your on ya own and things go slack its good 'company' I really must get an up to date radio tho. And if I remember right a SW radio can also be used as a ferret locator if your Deben box goes wrong! JDog
I prefer to listen to the sounds of the countryside. I had a friend out last year. We were in separate hides and at times he failed to shoot birds in his decoy pattern. It turns out that he was listening to the Ashes on a radio which he had sneaked into his hide knowing that I would disapprove.

delburt0
It's just something else to frustrate me I used to smoke and everytime I rolled a cig 3 pigeons came in and I'd drop bacca on me ,swear stand up they would be off.. Since I stopped smoking it's everytime I'm pouring a brew. No doubt if I took a radio they would come in whilst messing with the radio and pouring a brew. I do go on p/w though whilst I'm in the hide though, probably why I never shoot much :(
EMcC
I can't see anything wrong with some light soothing music, glass of red wine and a little female company, just make sure the hide is big enough, otherwise your legs might stick outside and scare the pigeons. Oh, it might help if you take a mate with you to do the pigeon shooting while you are otherwise occupied
BellySlater
Don't use the radio anymore as i was worried it would get wet in the the hot tub. What is frustrating though is smoking a nice cuban cigar, I put the gun away now as lighting up seems to be one of the best decoys I have. Don't know how they do it in the movies but I can't shoot with a Cohiba on the go ! B)
brett1985
ive been told you can get one of those new fangled smarty phone things that allows you to plug headphones into... pop your defenders on overtop of those and the birds will never hear it....
