Whitebridges
I carelessly knocked the brass bead off a Browning B2000 S/A. I shot it several times without the sight and it didn't seem to make a scrap of difference to my shooting. I never look at the sight just the target. I don't like these big glow type sights either and find them very off putting. Edited July 25, 2014 by Whitebridges

Duckman91
My nikko 5000 is double bead wide rib but the end bead has broken off somewhere but never bothered me.

Are they adding them on new guns then now? My SX3 has a little brass pip that used to be white and I cant say I ever paid is any attention, come to think of it it might have one mid way also- couldn't give a monkeys about them. I have a rough old gun that some fool fitted the bead off centre on, never miss off to one side with it (too busy looking at the bird)
loriusgarrulus
I have a brass bead on the end of my gun, but never look at it now I look at the clays.
Scully
Have done in the past. The beads on all my guns are tiny little brass things, so I'm never aware of them anyhow. If you use a bead to aim, then you're not concentrating on the target.
bicykillgaz
Why do they put them on when it's fairly clear no one uses them? Or is it just that no one realises there using it?
Big Mat
My auto has no bead on it, it fell off one morning on the Ouse washes. I've shot better since it fell off!
fortune
although all of my guns have a bead or some sort of front sight I never ever notice the sight at all when shooting moving targets of any kind. The only time that I might use the bead is when a sitter comes into a nearby tree that I haven't been able to shoot as it landed. this is when I'm most likely to miss, bead or no bead. Go on be a Devil, go topless and remove both the bead and the 'bra', apart from being cooler it should not affect your shooting BUT I can not speak for those around you ! Bob90
I haven't shot with bead for 10years really it shouldn't make any difference as your spose to be looking at the target
Cawdor118
I have not used a bead in the past... Not an ounce of difference.
Alycidon
Bead on one of the barrel sets on my 687 is missing, was loose for a while then vanished one day. Should get a replacement really as there is a threaded rain trap there !!. but from an effectiveness point of view its the same. A
