marsh man
Ours is always four Saturdays in February ( except last year as we shot cock birds on the 1st whitch was a Saturday so we went the next four ) We all pay £20.00 for the four weeks and all the money goes to a different charity each year , and we normally issue around 25 to 30 . ShropshireSam
When I was a lad.....in East Yorkshire it was a Friday...and yes the first two Fridays with the earlier dusk were a pain to get from school in time...once we were driving at 17 we took all our kit including shotguns to school so we could drive straight to the woods. I don't think they would allow that now!!! Don't think they would have then if they had known. Here in Shropshire it is Saturdays and no problems with work...unfortunately not enough get out to keep them moving.
