welshwarrior
Well it's taken me a while but I've finally finished a rifle I've been aiming to build for awhile. It's a Lakelander action which is a nice smooth action with a good reliable internal rotary magazine and you don't see that many around.Hardy moderator and Schimdt and Bender 6x42 scope. Cumbrian
Very nice stock. I like the look of the semi-pistol grip. Would you recommend that particular style of grip? I've never experienced it myself.

The Mighty Prawn
What you want is to stick a synthetic stock on that! Nobody has wood any more! Seriously though that is a lovely gun and hats off to you
Old Boggy
Well done, that really is very impressive. Can I ask if you also did the leather covered recoil pad which looks great, only I'm attempting to do similar to a boxlock 16 bore but my initial attempt is somewhat lacking. What thickness leather did you use and was it pigskin as generally used. Also, what did you finish it with to get the polished look ? Sorry about all the questions but your work is so impressive, you are obviously the one to ask. Many thanks
welshwarrior
Yes it's pigskin as thin as you can find this a little thick and has a minor over hang I think it was .7mm. Finish is polished with lots of elbow grease don't know how long it will stay like that.

Finish is polished with lots of elbow grease don't know how long it will stay like that. Thanks for that. I think the leather I used was too thick as I ended up with small wrinkles at toe and heel, even though I kept it wet during the stretching bit. Had I ended up with a pad half as good as yours, I would have been happy, so will try again with thinner leather. Again, must congratulate you on your exquisite craftsmanship, absolutely stunning. Alycidon
Stock on that is far far better than the BASC 389 I had a go with. Hats off to you , a nice job. A
TriBsa
Beautiful rifle. Love the lines of the stock and the wood. Nice job. Almost a shame to see the baked bean can on the end of the barrel. What's it's age/history Welshwarrior?
welshwarrior
The mod is very light so doesn't upset the balance at all. The history no real idea I got an action I like with a shot out barrel and had a play.
