Well it's taken me a while but I've finally finished a rifle I've been aiming to build for awhile.
It's a Lakelander action which is a nice smooth action with a good reliable internal rotary magazine and you don't see that many around.

Well done, that really is very impressive.

Can I ask if you also did the leather covered recoil pad which looks great, only I'm attempting to do similar to a boxlock 16 bore but my initial attempt is somewhat lacking. What thickness leather did you use and was it pigskin as generally used. Also, what did you finish it with to get the polished look ? Sorry about all the questions but your work is so impressive, you are obviously the one to ask.

Many thanks

Yes it's pigskin as thin as you can find this a little thick and has a minor over hang I think it was .7mm.

Finish is polished with lots of elbow grease don't know how long it will stay like that.

Thanks for that. I think the leather I used was too thick as I ended up with small wrinkles at toe and heel, even though I kept it wet during the stretching bit. Had I ended up with a pad half as good as yours, I would have been happy, so will try again with thinner leather.

Again, must congratulate you on your exquisite craftsmanship, absolutely stunning.
