dougall
If you had all the money in the world what would be the first gun you bought?? Penelope
A Dickson round action or a McNaughton bar in wood, sod it both, in fact a matched pair of each with Teague chokes in 30" barrels, one of each with 27" barrels choked IMP Cyl and 1/4 and one of each with 30" , 3 1/2" chambered barrels, all steel proofed. Milo
Rigby Rifle in .308 made for my stubby arms Have a chat with Marc Newton. Their prices are very reasonable. Personally, I would have Hartmann and Weiss make me a garniture of 20 bore pigeon guns, side by side, single trigger, POW stock with spare 28 bore barrels. ChrisAsh
Bettinsoli X8 still just 2 tubes to me, a great car i could get excited about but a shotgun is just a tool and most overpriced, after all such a simple thing
CharlesP
Clays - Probably a Perazzi MX8 to my specification Game - One of Mr Brown's Round Action Side by Side masterpieces; or even a bar-in-wood MacNaughton of similar format. Maybe a Harkom best boxlock. I have no problem buying a used gun, it depends entirely on condition. The modern Purdey damascus thing isn't really to my taste, but a classic bar-in-wood Purdey (or similar quality) hammer gun would be part of the new collection too. brett1985
I'd commission one of the big names (H&H, Purdey etc) to make me a competition clay gun. a true one off. fully adjustable high rib 30inch barrels (multi choke) scour the world for the most nicely figured piece of walnut for the woodwork beaver tail forend drop out triggers with a selection of replaceable blades fully adjustable comb, butt plate and balance system. bespoke/fitted grip area the most intricate scroll engraving ever seen (Lorenzo gamba) plus, to finish, a handmade case. I think that would do nicely.
TDS
A Winchester 101 Presentation Grade....the only gun I have truly desired These were only made as skeet or trap guns so would have a skeet grade multichoked by Teague I have had nearly every flavour of 101 since the 1970s and are the only guns (apart from Remington 1100s) that fit and I feel comfortable with ...Second thoughts , I will have a Remington 1100 12g "F" grade as well..... clumber
It's got to be a Woodward for me. Trade mark scalloped fences and fine engraving, double trigger and a long straight hand stock. Beautiful.
Hamster
Woodward, D.M.Brown, H & H, Purdey and a couple of obscure Italian master smiths would be getting orders for pairs varying from 32" - 34" multi barrel set exotica, be damned if I'd waste a moment with normal gear like Perazzi, not with all the money in the world.
