Fuji Shooter
Try mypolicy.co.uk My 18 year old has his Jaguar X Type estate with them for £1300, his Corsa 1.2 was £1800 with Diamond but they wanted to put it up to over £2k after a year and 12 months no claims. It's a minefield so good luck.

rjimmer
Whoever he goes with, put yourself on the policy as a named driver, and your parent also if they have a driver's license.
guzzicat
I am 70 this year, as a sixteen year old my first years insurance for a BSA Bantam cost me 1 weeks wages, that was then what price the same now for any sixteener lucky enough to be in work? Danger-Mouse
I`ve been with Southern Rock for the last 2 years. Haven`t found anyone who can beat their prices.
rec-baller
I,ve got a Churchill multi car policy , my twin cam polo costs me £180 a year , My 21 yr old daughter who has just passed her test has a 1.3 Micra , cost £1350 fully complete for the year , it was the cheapest way to insure her
rimfire4969
My daughter is with Autostaints with a black box fitted. 1.2ltr Micra special edition fully comp £1200, aged 17 with no no claims. To be honest it's a bloody rip off whatever way you look at it.

Fuji Shooter
Just make sure you don't do what we did and take out a kicker plan where they give you 12 months NCB after 10 months. We found out it is not transferable between insurance companies so my lad effectively lost his first years no claims. luckily he also runs a 1970 Beetle as a weekend toy so racked up a year on that also. MrM
We just used a price comparison site when my daughter wanted her first insurance, and each subsequent year thereafter.
triumphant59
Try CLA insurance, my son had his 1.0l VW Polo with them think fully comp was about £900 when he passed his test and had dropped to about £700 when he was

Lord Geordie
Well done that lad Now about insurance! Many moons ago I started off with a MK1 Fiesta. Fully comp first year was £270, kinda funny really as its what i am still paying now I did for one year buy a kit car, fully comp £80. Apparently classic car ins is or WAS cheaper too. I have heard they were closing the loophole, as young drivers were using it as a way to gain a few years NCB using a battered nova or mk2 fiesta. But may be worth looking into. I don't know I moped insurance NCB can be transferred to a car policy? Moped insurance is cheaper to build up a few years of road use! Just a thought! I stalled on my 3 point turn during my test and still passed, but pleased to hear he has now passed. My nephew just recently wrote off his second vehicle in the space of 3 years. He is 21. Insurers paid out immediately and I have no idea what his premium is but I do know he got it reduced significantly by adding both his parents as named drivers and me also. It's a real odd one as my lad (18) reduced insurance on one of his cars by £180 by taking myself and the wife off. Very odd
