I have in the past attended some clay shoots on his land at Achafary up in north west Scotland which was run by some of the estate employees. I also met his wife and some of the family

although I did not know they who they were at the time. He treated his estate workers very fairly and he has recently refurbished a lot of the tied cottages (or the estate has).

Classy response.

Keep working o the passive aggressive trait, it's always a winner.

Oh get over yourself. I have nothing against the bloke at all, but I seriously couldn't give two hoots about his death anymore than he would have been concerned about mine.

What do you expect me to do, break down in tears ?

I know little or nothing about the man, but can't comprehend why people are bothered. If a friend or relative died, I would feel it, but he was a stranger.

If someone with mega bucks, someone who has made the odd film or sold a few songs dies the World goes mad.

I've just read on AAOC that no inheritance tax will be paid because it is claimed he died of "War wounds" from 23 years ago.

£9 billion tax free.

Anyone wounded or killed in battle / conflict is exempt

Good thing to

He will be a sad loss but the million trees he had planted on his shooting estates will be a legacy

Maybe some of the pigeons we shoot nest in them

all the best

Yes. We have just bought some woodland. There are rules to claim tax relief from inheritance from woodland and tax relief on woodland products too. :)

I believe quite a few celebrities invested in woodland/forestry many years ago, including Terry Wogan and Steve Davis, for tax relief purposes but I thought the laws had changed in 1988 but still viable until the mid 1990's? Has the scheme started again?
