ShootingEgg
Anyone on here use one? What are they like? Looking at getting my 243 and shop has mentioned a meopta scope as part of a full setup
Lloyd90
Quality scopes although apparently not up there with the top brands! Depends which model? I have a 6x42 and have recently swapped it for a 3-12x50 Artemis with IR. Looks very clear and I'm more than happy. Can be picked up for a low price second hand! oowee
They better be good I have bought the R1 3-12 x 56rd to go with Hexalock mounts. I don't get it till rifle arrives in Feb (fingers crossed).
neil w
Good scopes, superb glass and build quality.you'll not go wrong, I believe you can buy them overseas,at discount prices.
LeadWasp
They're very good - outstanding value compared to L,Sw and Z for what you get. I have an R1R 3-12x56RD with a 4K however for various reasons have a comparable-ish SHV mounted on my main stalking rifle at present. I am missing the low light ability of the Meopta by comparison so will be swapping back. Meopta now do a fixed mag - so fewer lense elements/better transmission. It is more expensive than the S&B and Docters but it is very good.
Blunderbuss
Superb quality scopes.

I looked to buy it in Czech but it was not much different with teh exchange rate and I thought if it goes wrong (i hope unlikely) I can take it back easily. Jaymo
Are you saying it's a larger concern as it's turning out loads of lower qualitys mass produced scopes in comparison to a small 'craftsman' operation. Or that it's a larger concern due to their popularity and superb products. Both of your posts can be read in either of the above statements

tharsus
The Meopro i bought was nothing special, the Burris i had was better, returned it or a second hand Swaro 8x50 that was a lot better than the Meopta
Loki
Hi From recollection Decroyffe? on PW (admittedly awhile back) found a video on Tinternet of Zeiss (US assembled) Conquest glass adjacent Meopta glass in the Meopta factory.......... whitehackle
I have a 6x42 meopta and it is a brilliant scope. Then I bought a meopro, and was disappointed. The meopta meopro is made for the American market apparently, and they have made it too cheap I think. I have looked through higher end meopta's and they are fantastic scopes. Just not the meopro! 7daysinaweek
Yes quality scopes, I and have read on many forums that Zeiss and Swaros use Schott glass machined by Meopta who supply the brands for the glass in their scopes and have done for the past decades. Spoke to a chap last year who had also been to the factory as a uk agent for them and when i asked him he confirmed this. atb 7diaw
