moongeese
This has been the best day for pinks arriving in Perthshire this season, they have been flighting up the Earn Valley, skein after skein all day, taking advantage of the good wind. JDog
This morning I saw between 400 and 500 Pinks. They were actually getting airborne, presumably after spending the night roosting on the ground. This was in the wilds of North Lincolnshire between South Somercotes and Conisholme. marsh man
Driving around Broadland today the sky was etched with skeins of Pinks , going by the height they were flying , I would guess they are new arrivals about to join the ones already here . Mr gen
A few friends and me are heading up to Montrose next week, to have a go at getting a few pinks. By the sounds of it there should plenty to go at. I have never been or done anything like this before, I know that they will be early mornings but what are the ideal conditions for bringing them in, should it be windy? cold, wet? what do they like? Also would any of the PW massif have any advise and tips such as cartridge load and attire? I am looking forward to this very much and am counting down the sleeps
moongeese
Looks like plenty wind next week with the Hurricane about to hit the country, that should help , but you may have to shoot them walking off the mud. Lol, no I am sure you will have a good time, you will definitely see plenty pinks, the rest is up to you, and a bit of luck. Bill
Mr gen
Thanks Bill I am sure it will be well worth the 9 hour drive and I am definitely sure there will be a wee dram waiting for us at the end of it.
