Rewulf
6 minutes ago, JohnfromUK said: This has now set 5 weeks as 'illegal' in 'case law' which now can be used as a law itself in any future cases - however shorter prorogations may not be illegal. So - in summary prorogation itself is legal and normal practice. - before the Supreme Court ruling - it was open to interpretation on what length might be 'excessive' and therefore illegal. - after the Supreme Court ruling it is now illegal at 5 weeks in length where this is for 'political' reasons of stopping parliamentary scrutiny. This makes a mockery of the accusations of Boris being 'guilty' amid calls to resign ect. Boris acted under advice, and as has been discussed, advice that was sound , and of a legal path. Its a bit like being prosecuted for speeding , AFTER they lowered the speed limit to make you guilty. There is no proof whatsoever of him lying to the queen, and his stated reasons for prorogation were in good faith. If there are accusations of him lying over this matter, then they need to be backed up with proof. There is still plenty of time for libel cases in this .. The whole issue is being used to promote remain ideology, and weaponised to further the aim of usurping the results of the Ref. This is not only unconstitutional , but also skirts the fringes of legality itself. Not only has the antics of the remain establishment dirtied the waters of politics in the UK, it has now caused the electorate to question their faith in the judiciary. They have expanded the swamp, and made its smell all the more foul.
Gordon R
I note that we need to go back to 1982 for an example to bash Boris. Luckily with McDonnell, Abbott, Corbyn and company, they have many more recent and more serious examples. Their ongoing, dreadful treatment of Jewish people is still going on, let alone their cosy relationships with terrorists..

We have a very bizarre situation at the moment: A referendum was held - the result was clear - the government (and main opposition party) had promised to carry through the result. Parliament has acted to prevent that - strongly encouraged by the speaker and aided by the opposition To sort it out - the prime minister has asked for a general election The ludricous terms of the fixed parliaments act effectively leave the calling of an election timing now to the leader of the opposition!!! The Leader of the Opposition despite repeatedly calling for an election (as recently as yesterday) is actually actively preventing one happening The business put before Parliament (which is normally set by the Leader of the House and put in the daily business by the speaker) seems to now be selected by the speaker not the leader of the house by using irregular emergency procedures. So we have a government who cannot set the business of the house (because the way the Speaker is behaving), and cannot call an election - which is blocked by the leader of the opposition. Thornberrys attempt at stand up, as she attempted to give attendees a glimpse into her teenage sex life 'It wasnt running through a field of wheat comrades !' 🤣 Calls to make the UK carbon zero within 10 years Borrowing £100 billion to lend to UK drivers so they can have interest free loans to buy electric cars, whilst others just spoke of lending them out willy nilly to anyone who wanted one 😆 All finished off with a cool acoustic rendition of Keep the red flag flying 😍
Yellow Bear
And we have Barry Sheerman screaming the government is a disgrace, yet another rampant remainer and further integration fan from a leave constituancy. oowee
Very impressed by Geoffrey Cox today what an impressive voice. I Reckon Geoffrey Cox, Kier Starmer, Dominic Greeve in a room for a week could sort out the basis of a proposition for the EU that would get Brexit over the line.
