oscarsdad
When stripping completely to clean your browning maxus, when you come to reassemble and the bolt isn’t quite aligned, don’t put your finger in the action to clear it without holding the bolt with your other hand...it results in the top of your finger being removed and blood on the cream carpet. London Best
There is a lesson there: don’t buy a cream carpet!
Smokersmith
Reminds me of several years ago when I let the bolt shut on my finger in an SX3. It was on the marsh and in a blizzard, which was fortunate as at the time it didn't hurt at all (comfortably numb!!). By the time I got home it was throbbing like hell though! I thought you was going to say an auto 😂 I did watch something on YouTube the other day and the bloke had the bolt open and 4 fingers in the chamber... Not something id be keen on doing. Didn’t hurt as much as the op’s I’m sure, but it made me squeak.
JohnfromUK
I have never owned an auto, but a Darne can give you a very nasty pinch drawing blood. I have also sliced myself open on the sharp edges of the ejectors on a Beretta o/u.
London Best
Whist stuffing (cartridges!) for an over-enthusiastic Gun he managed to pinch and cut my finger badly with his Browning. Scully
Reminds me as a lad, of being instructed by the Range Master to insert a finger into the breech of an L1A1 to ‘prove’ empty. 🙂

Taileron
Some clown in my house was admiring the lock up engineering of his new MK38. Turned the gun over to absorb the lovely clunk and fitment of the action, closed the action and caught the web of skin between his thumb and index finger into the action removing a fair chunk which has not grown back. figgy
I think a semi auto owners have done this at some point, some more than once 😤, luckily only once did it bite me to the point of bleeding. Never lost the end of my finger or thumb with it though just a nice bleeding blood blister.

impala59
Guns can’t hurt you, only people (including yourself) can hurt you😀 I recall a pal who took his new (to him) S xS to a clay shoot, reverently removed it from its slip, opened the action at which point the forend fell off and both barrels dropped vertically on to his big toe. He went home without firing a shot embarrassed and unhappy, ended up in casualty and couldn’t walk for the best part of a month
