Mungler
I try to inject common sense into a chap at work who is convinced about chem trails, that 9/11 was the CIA at work (and that they collapsed the twin towers) and now more recently Bill Gates is part of an illuminati ‘chip’ vaccine that are all behind Covid. I am a massive pragmatist and I’ve seen enough of the world and people to just about work out how it all works / hangs together and in most conspiracy theories I’m reminded that ‘They’ (being the powers that be) can’t fix the pot holes in the roads near me, and the base suggestion that there’s a criss crossing highly organised and committed global network of people and planes being constantly operated to gas us and so as to control us, and such that all those involved have managed to not disclose a word to anyone, anywhere and ever is just hilarious. Think of the logistics from the factories producing these chemicals to the pilots, the maintenance crew, air traffic control and not just in this country but the world and transcending all borders. Ditto the CIA collapsing the twin towers. Ever seen Fred Dibnah drop a chimney stack in Stoke? To go undetected they would have had to construct the buildings from scratch packed with high explosives just for that rainy day and regardless of the explosives degrading over time as all chemical based products do. And again, there would have to be a network of a thousand plus people who all kept their gobs shut. Blimey, the yanks couldn’t keep it quiet about the team / individuals involved in shooting Bin Laden and we’re already 3 Hollywood films into that particular top secret covert operation. And as for Bill Gates, did he need a bit more money and a bit more power? He wanted that slightly bigger boat or that private Bond villain island with more square footage and he spoke to his mortgage advisor and came up short? It’s all so delusional but if you get enough loonies on line saying the same things they then get to quote each other and offer that up as evidence or proof. Conjunction Fallacy, or Huang's theory of conditions, describes the thought process behind it all. For some it is easier to believe a multitude of specific conditions all operating in harmony derive the outcome rather than the single obvious answer. I do now have doubts about the moon landings And when I lived in the US the MIAs were obviously a big story and I totally believed the American Government abandoned prisoners at the end of the Vietnam War. Frankly it would be hard to believe otherwise, but the American Government's way of dealing with these contentious issues is to discredit whistle blowers, send the FBI round to threaten you or point out what happened people who rock the boat. This spawns conspiracy theories. Never a crack in the wall of silence. Edited December 18, 2020 by Vince Green

Its another 'conspiracy' that cant possibly be true , due to the amount of people involved in keeping it covered up surely ?? Generally speaking , its a lot easier to believe the information that is presented to you by 'authority' than question any aspect of its sincerity, this is the way we are bought up, educated, and for most of us, live our lives. In the last few decades, a lot more people are starting to question the narrative, there is a variety of reasons for this that I wont get into here, but as more people question , there seems to be a whole new garden industry cropping up , with the theme being.. outlandish conspiracy theories. Flat earth , lizard men , chem trails and 5G causing covid and other ailments, all thrown into the bubbling pit of conspiracy. Its got to the point , and its purely intentional in my opinion, that anyone who questions a given narrative, say for example , Vinces thoughts about moon landings, immediately brings to the minds of observers , whether hes lost his marbles, or indeed at what point he will proclaim the queen to be a Diana murdering lizard. Questioning government and media narratives are a good thing, if no one did they would soon get to feeding you any old rubbish, many do anyway. Ask yourselves the question , do you 100% trust the media and government to tell you the truth ? If the answer is no , then you must also be a conspiracy theorist to some extent ? It doesnt necessarily mean you believe the earth is flat though does it ?

It doesnt necessarily mean you believe the earth is flat though does it ? Indeed, I don’t trust the government or the media at all and very much doubt that they have my own best interests at heart, however, I can apply common sense to most conspiracy theories and discount 99% of them. Eg. Chem trails is an easy one and total nonsense. Logistical nightmare, enormous supply chain which would be impossible to keep quiet and realistically putting something in the water supply would be much easier. And yet there are people that still believe in them and a flat Earth. The trouble is most conspiracy theorists nail themselves to that particular cross and the identity that comes with it and which means they feel obliged or are just unable to call out some conspiracy theories as total BS and when they really should. They also then feel obliged to espouse the virtues of Russia Today as being the only source of true news and wilfully cop a deafen to all things Russian and surrounding the Salisbury poisonings by inferring yet another GB gov conspiracy and excluding the notion that Putin could be a psycho despot.
