Like the rest of the PW posters say, take it easy. Many THANKS 7diaw, I believe you are in the same profession in health care , touch wood I still haven't spent a night in hospital in my entire like but this last year I have had a number of hospital appointments , apart from the longish wait yesterday the staff themselves were brilliant , had time for you , willing to have a chat and always with a smile on there face , the bulk of them were from overseas and I am sure we would be a lot worse off if they were not here , cannot speak highly enough of the treatment I have had from the doctor to all the staff I have come in contact with , as Tina Turner used to sing about they are Simply The Best . Old Boggy
Good evening John, Like everyone on PW, I wish you well for a very speedy recovery back to a good standard of health. It must have been very daunting not knowing how that procedure was to pan out but as 7diaw has said, heart operations have come on leaps and bounds. I know only too well that this last year has not been good for you and can greatly sympathise. You will have to take things a bit easy for a while but I’m sure that you are fully aware of that but no doubt you will be down that marsh, with or without the gun, but of course with Bobbie by your side, who I know is a great comfort to you. Take care my friend and hope that we can meet up again some time and get that kettle back on the boil and have a good old natter once more. All the very best John, Chris

I think I am enjoying sitting about more today rather than being on a shoot , heavy rain and strong winds are not the best conditions for an enjoyable day in the countryside when you not feeling the thing , still I have been out this morning and hopefully I will be going out again this afternoon but only with a stick and not my gun . You know you are always welcome and anyone who is with you , I have got plenty of cups and more than enough water to fill the kittle , courtesy of Essex and Suffolk water company . MM The NHS gets stick, but in times like this where would we be without them 👍 @Sciurus had a stent in a few years back, he's got twenty years on me but takes some keeping up with I can tell you 😅😅

Sciurus
Marsh Man, glad it all went ok- I very quickly got back to fitness with the stent- sorry yours took all day. No doubt you will be on medication for some time, just look out for unusual side effects like annoying coughs and flatulence and tell your GP, who can alter your medication. I also then suffered from cold fingers, which made loading .410 cartridges very difficult but again tweaking the medication restored me to full rude health. Enjoy your new lease of life 👍

Enjoy your new lease of life 👍 THANKS for the advice , the long day was no problem but I was getting used to the fast service I have had on all my other appointments , it's cleaver nowadays that you can go through all that and just get up and walk back to your ward , I did feel the cold a lot before I had them fitted and when we had the bitterly cold wind a fortnight ago it took your breath away ( what little you had ) where this afternoon I went for a walk in less cold conditions and I was alright , so I am pretty sure it is going to be an improvement . if my new lease of life last for 20 years then I will be happy ,

London Best
A (seemingly) perfectly fit friend of mine had a sudden heart attack in July. 999, rushed to hospital and 4 stents fitted. Scared him big time. Seven weeks later he was out picking up as if nothing had happened.

Many THANKS for all your kind thoughts , I feel a bit of a cheat really as I could get on with my everyday life and I only went to the doctors in the Summer as it just felt like indigestion , I am normally by myself a lot so I could walk any distance at my own pace , I never dreamt I had a heart problem , one test seem to lead me to the next test and so on , I did have one test where the results said I could have narrowed arteries so they booked into N / N hospital , it seem incredible what they can do as I even walked from ward to ward and a few hours after it was done I was walking my dog around my crescent on a cold windy Winters night , apart from mild chest pain and a bruised wrist I already feel as if I am on the mend , I wouldn't had been fit enough Saturday if we had a shoot but all goes well I will be on the one this Saturday , tablet wise I am taking six a day when I remember ☺️ , tomorrow I will pop in the dentist to see if thy can take three teeth out with my blood being so thin , if they can then hopefully it will be it for this year , a year that won't go down as one of my best , THANKS for all the support I have had from P / W , really meant a lot
semi-auto
Hi Marsh Man, Over the last twenty years or so I have collected six stents, but essentially life continues as it once did. The trick is to engage with the rehab programme (if it's still on offer in your area) and then SLOWLY build up your stamina. I found that I had more energy every time stents were 'installed' and with your mindset, I am sure that this will be the case for you. All best wishes for a speedy recovery,
