12gauge82 Posted Thursday at 06:12 Report Share Posted Thursday at 06:12 Ive never been a fan of Trump, I don't like the way he speaks, he appears arrogant, boastful and at times disrespectful and always considered him a bit of a narcissist. All that said, I can't deny my negative opinions of him have shifted, while I still find the language he uses to be at best un-diplomatic, there have been several events that have led me to believe, nobody can question his determination, belief in his own set of principles and ability to lead and get things done. He's just secured a cease fire between Israel and Palestine before even taking office, beaten an obvious attempt at politically motivated lawfair, won a second term in office, despite clear media bias, was the first American leader to visit North Korea, is clearly respected by strong man dictators around the world, and crucially for me, although less of a measureble achievement, showed great courage during a very nearly successful assassination attempt, which stood out for me, as his bravery in the face of near death is not something someone can fain, I felt it was a glimpse at his inner self that couldn't be faked. I believe most world leaders would have understandably cowered behind their security.

Gordon R Posted Thursday at 11:46 Report Share Posted Thursday at 11:46 Whilst he is not everyone's cup of tea, in some ways he is like Tommy Robinson. People don't like the person, but agree with what he says on certain subjects. This country needs someone like Trump, who can see through red tape / wokeism and get things done. I believe most world leaders would have understandably cowered behind their security. He isn't a leader - he has no leadership qualities. He can rouse a rabble, but is then curiously missing in action. He didn't secure the ceasefire. He wasn't the victim of lawfair (would you want him dating your daughter or handling your investment). There is no media bias - Trump gets away with things that would sink most politicians. He isn't respected, he's regarded as a useful idiot by authoritarian states. Courage? - he's a bully and therefore fundamentally a coward. Outraged when people won't kiss his ring. Some people will get the President they deserve... Gordon R Posted Thursday at 23:48 Report Share Posted Thursday at 23:48 It makes me smile that people sneer about Trump, when the UK has Starmer, Rayner, Cooper, Lammy and Reeves. He is an intellectual heavyweight compared to these.

Raja Clavata Posted Friday at 18:50 Report Share Posted Friday at 18:50 Trump will do America and working class Americans good. What he inflicts on the rest of the world in the process remains to be seen. Whilst Trump may work for America, in my opinion, it’s a bit of a leap of faith to suggest he’s exactly what we need in this country. And, if he’s an intellectual heavyweight, then I’m the Queen of Sheba.
