  1. You were lucky, The Heron - I have a receipt here for my Springer for £2.5k after he ate a sock a couple of years ago.
  2. Amen to that villaman - also odd that, when I suggested that I was looking forward to receiving my copy of Aigun World because we were getting short of Toilet paper, the comment was quickly removed?? Not sure which one but seem to think BBS.
  3. Not sure why you leave it for a couple of hours after the first mixing cycle? - my Panasonic bakes a huge loaf in just under 2 hours total and if it was to rise any higher it would hit the lid? Flour improver is worth adding and learning when your machine has finished mixing is wise - you can then gently push the dough to one side and remove the paddle, saves having that big gash on the bottom of the loaf. If you ever see any WESSEX MILL french bread flour give it a try - bread seems to stay fresh much longer.

    Old HW77

Stunning! - I remember these coming out many, many years ago. I was "king of the hill" among our shooting community with my HW80 that would shoot the heads off Roses in my neighbours garden with ease (bless him - he never realised) when a friend that I went to school with turned up one day with the 77 - weighed a ton but it was soooo accurate, I borrowed it a couple of days later and shot 13 Rabbits in under an hour which was brilliant until I tried carrying them home on my Motorbike! So many fond memories around this gun and I am so glad that you took the time to put pictures up - Enjoy it - if it gives you half the pleasure that it gave me then it is, indeed, priceless.
  5. I think Stu might be in the right area - also pretty sure that these run shims twixt the breach block and the action sides - if run dry these will need sorting.

    PELLPAX

FWIW - dealt with them about a year ago and they were exemplary.
  7. Walker570 - I have watched Nuthatches doing exactly the same thing on my feeders - must have had 30 odd Peanuts last time.
  8. FWIW - have 2 Springers - one I've had 5 years plus (docked) has had no issues whatsoever working brush/brambles whilst the second (only had him 6 months - undocked) has been caught up in Brambles twice this last Winter and on both occasions I have had to cut his tail free - once whilst standing in 2 feet of water.
  9. 1st trick Lloyd is grate your Onions and squeeze the water out of them - second is to gently cook your base Spices before adding any ingredients - there's loads of cheats you can do such as using a small Pilchard tin inside the Curry 10 minutes before it's ready - put a burning BBQ coal in the tin and drop Oil onto it - put a lid on the whole affair and your Curry has an amazing Tandoori style flavour.Practice makes perfect but if you want it just like the Pro chefs then you need to use Ghee and such like.
  10. In the last 7or8 days we have enjoyed Sweet and Sour Chicken, Lamb Balti and Tandoori Chicken - all cooked at home for a fraction of Takeaway prices - complete Indian, say Tandoori Chicken, is well under £10 for 2 even using premium Chicken Thighs - under £7 if you buy from the likes of Aldi. It is so easy once you have bought your spices - 50p/100g in Morrisons and they will keep you in Curries for months.
  11. Mix Ant Powder with plaster and fill the gaps then make your own Ant Killer with Borax and Icing Sugar - loads of info on the net - cheap as chips and very effective.
  12. You do not need to "sign" the application document - the notes should explain that simply printing your name on the form counts as your signature.
  13. The pleasure is all mine - ****....LOVE?
  14. As previously said - gluing polystyrene tiles to the inside of your cabinet will prevent 90% of any condensation caused by temperature swing - a sachet of VP90 hanging inside will do the rest for around 2 years. If access to the loft is going to be a problem then I think best way forward is to lay the cabinet on the floor in the cupboard - hinge toward the front to make prying the cabinet open more difficult - police are very keen on Alarms so consider fitting one as well - you can get a battery operated wireless system with 2 or 3 PIR's for around the £50 mark.
  15. Yes - obviously I was seriously suggesting that a medium would be required - that notion that you tool my comment literally is worrying. And the word is intend not intent.
  16. Roughly speaking 40 million visitors to the UK each year compared to 3 million for NZ - that's roughly 14:1? They have around a thousand dead from corona whereas we are pushing 27 thousand - doesn't really stack up unless my maths is naff.Maybe we should be asking one of the 27000 if they think lockdown was too late?
  17. You may have downloaded some software that has bing as an add on - you should be able to set google as your default web browser in your internet options.
  18. Don't think any Firearms Dept are doing home visits at the moment so you have plenty of time. Living room not ideal IMHO as easy access thru the doors and I'm guessing plasterboard walls behind cupboards? Stairs cupboard only if you remove the electrical items as condensation could be an issue so the loft would seem best. If you line the inside of your cabinet with Polystyrene Tiles and keep a sachet of VP90 inside you will prevent condensation/corrosion.
  19. Wouldn't give it a second thought - mine sailed thru and my record is,er,interesting and includes Firearms offences.
  20. I dont get it - you clearly have no issues shooting Squirrels or Rats but hesitate to shoot Jackdaws - all vermin surely? If it were my garden the Jackdaws would be shot, simples.
  21. I'm guessing that the RWS Hobby would do the same at half the price?
  22. Absolutely no need to be concerned Stu, in fact my psychiatrist promised me that (once I had untied her) she would sign me off benefits.
  23. Nest box is too exposed - can I suggest you grow a climber in front of it? If the parents survived (most likely) they will remember the nest box site, you could try Passiflora or a similar fast growing plant A climber with thorns would be even better, we have a Passiflora in front of our box and despite it being at least 18 inches thick, the Robins still nest in it every year.
