Be interesting to see if anyone on here has one of those guns - they look stunning.

Doubt that Epoxy resin will be a permanent repair - it's quite hard and thus brittle when it's set - you might be wise to use an industrial strength Loctite or Bearing Fit liquid.

In this current heat I always carry a Water Canteen and a collapsible bowl attached to my belt - holds around a litre, I also put small pieces of Ice inside it. This mornings 4 mile walk saw the lot gone (2 Springers).
-
Not quite in the same vein by my Springer will remember where I have hidden a ball after walking nearly 3 miles around a Woodland (just under an hour) - as we get close he becomes agitated and starts asking to be sent to pick it up - I normally hide it about hip height in a tree or small bush or occasionally under a heap of grass cuttings but no matter where, he knows where it is.

That's not good news - I'm guessing that the barrel is brazed into the action so that's your best solution - an alternative would be to drill/tap 2 - 3mm threads from underneath the action (if you can pull the barrel out completely) then realign the barrel (using the foresight to ensure it is vertical) and then lock it into place with 2 3mm grub screws - might be wise to remove the barrel once you have done so and file a couple of flats where the grub screws have marked the barrel.Only other alternative is Chamber Spares have a standard .22 for around a £100.

Unless it is quite considerable or just plain annoying you then I wouldn't worry too much - the scope is attached/aligned with action and the gun is recoilless so it's not going to harm anything.

Makes me smile everytime I talk to fellow Dog owners who use harnesses and they justify it by saying "because he pulls"!! Well, matey, you've given him the best apparatus you could to make pulling as easy as possible for him!! DON'T LET YOUR DOG PULL - it's one of the easiest lessons to teach a Dog. Your Dog should walk by your side at all times and not even need a leed unless the situation demands i.e. A public place - the Dog should only leave your side if sent off or given a release command.

Some serious carcass damage there by the looks of it - what shot size and choke are you using?
-
We have a sniff under £30k and get around £200/year - biggest has been £100 but £25 most months.

And which one of us is most likely to cause harm to our sport in this day and age? Because I choose to exercise restraint in my hunting does that automatically paint me as an anti? I don't shoot young Rabbits, I dont shoot any Game birds, Deer or even Hares - that's my choice but, more importantly, I don't make wild presumptions about people that do nor do I ask them to stop.

Shooting chicks the minute they leave the nest, if you cannot see the lack of empathy involved in such a practice then that's a real shame, they can barely, if at all, fly. I used to do hundreds every year but I lost the taste as I grew up and realised that shooting is not all about killing and certainly not about numbers. I think that Rooks get confused with Crows and are tarred with the same brush. If they really are a problem then shoot the nests out in January.

On the other hand simply doing nothing (despite warnings) has cost a lot of lives.

Search the sales sites i.e. Gunwatch, Guntrader etc and buy used from a private seller - PF 48 is around £15 - I have bought/sold many guns this way and only ever had one turn up "not as described" and even then the seller refunded me. Look for something like the HW30 or Original 25.

Coffee, Latte, flat white, cappuccino, espresso etc
bruno22rf replied to HDAV's topic in Food and Drink
On a slight tangent Coffee was being discussed on this very forum a few years back and my paltry contribution to the debate was that I had never found anything nicer than Gold Blend. A fellow member stated that buying a pod machine would open up a whole new world of possibilities and, following his advice, I must admit that he was not wrong. The very first thing I do when I fall out of my pit in the early hours is switch on the Coffee machine - never mind hopping up and down in urgent need of a leak, then stand there eagerly awaiting the hot nectar to fill my cup - things are now so bad that we have 2 machines just incase one goes bang. -
Bird of prey persecution crimewave reported
bruno22rf replied to JohnfromUK's topic in General Shooting Matters
Absolutely unacceptable behaviour no matter who the guilty party is - shooting fraternity or not. Not hard to see how it happens though as I have been asked to "bump off" Red Kites locally because "they chase and kill all the Songbirds" - peoples understanding of these birds in particular is woeful. -
We have Passiflora growing up the back of our house - we were told it would not survive but it's been there 20 years now and is flowering at the moment - so strong that it actually broke our double glazed window a few years back!!!
-
Vulcan was just about the very first British Air Rifle truly capable of nudging the legal limit - replace everything with standard parts and keep the gun as original as possible - makes it easier to sell should you decide to and retains its character - just my opinion though.
-
It's on the way around our second Dog walk - there's several trees similar, think it's some kind of Birch??
-
Difficult to justify it in my eyes - used to do it every year but when I read somewhere that Rooks can be beneficial by eating bugs I stopped.
-
Not forgetting the Silver Kestrel.I seem to remember the guns were made mainly by 2 makers and a couple of letters stamped under the barrel denotes which.

Quick update on this situation - despite cancelling the parcels, both with my local council and on the Government website, they have been coming every week. This Tuesday I actually caught the driver as he tried to drop the food off at my door and told him of the situation - he refused to take the box back as he would have to drive back to the distribution centre and he was finishing for the day! Rang the council again and suggested that I might report them for Fly Tipping and, Hey Presto, it seems to have worked as I've had a TXT this morning confirming that I will no longer receive said provisions.

Break a Range Rover wing mirror and you won't see much change from a grand!!

From my experience of owning one....NO. OPP above is on the money re S410 but the world is full of far better guns than the RM8.

Anybody who doesn't love Marmite more than likely eats the little Girly Sandwiches with the crusts cut off that are served on Doilies.
