  1. On a slight tangent Coffee was being discussed on this very forum a few years back and my paltry contribution to the debate was that I had never found anything nicer than Gold Blend. A fellow member stated that buying a pod machine would open up a whole new world of possibilities and, following his advice, I must admit that he was not wrong. The very first thing I do when I fall out of my pit in the early hours is switch on the Coffee machine - never mind hopping up and down in urgent need of a leak, then stand there eagerly awaiting the hot nectar to fill my cup - things are now so bad that we have 2 machines just incase one goes bang.
  2. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour no matter who the guilty party is - shooting fraternity or not. Not hard to see how it happens though as I have been asked to "bump off" Red Kites locally because "they chase and kill all the Songbirds" - peoples understanding of these birds in particular is woeful.
  3. We have Passiflora growing up the back of our house - we were told it would not survive but it's been there 20 years now and is flowering at the moment - so strong that it actually broke our double glazed window a few years back!!!
  4. Vulcan was just about the very first British Air Rifle truly capable of nudging the legal limit - replace everything with standard parts and keep the gun as original as possible - makes it easier to sell should you decide to and retains its character - just my opinion though.
  5. It's on the way around our second Dog walk - there's several trees similar, think it's some kind of Birch??
  6. Difficult to justify it in my eyes - used to do it every year but when I read somewhere that Rooks can be beneficial by eating bugs I stopped.
  7. Not forgetting the Silver Kestrel.I seem to remember the guns were made mainly by 2 makers and a couple of letters stamped under the barrel denotes which.
  8. Quick update on this situation - despite cancelling the parcels, both with my local council and on the Government website, they have been coming every week. This Tuesday I actually caught the driver as he tried to drop the food off at my door and told him of the situation - he refused to take the box back as he would have to drive back to the distribution centre and he was finishing for the day! Rang the council again and suggested that I might report them for Fly Tipping and, Hey Presto, it seems to have worked as I've had a TXT this morning confirming that I will no longer receive said provisions.
  9. Break a Range Rover wing mirror and you won't see much change from a grand!!
  10. From my experience of owning one....NO. OPP above is on the money re S410 but the world is full of far better guns than the RM8.
  11. Anybody who doesn't love Marmite more than likely eats the little Girly Sandwiches with the crusts cut off that are served on Doilies.
  12. You were lucky, The Heron - I have a receipt here for my Springer for £2.5k after he ate a sock a couple of years ago.
  13. Amen to that villaman - also odd that, when I suggested that I was looking forward to receiving my copy of Aigun World because we were getting short of Toilet paper, the comment was quickly removed?? Not sure which one but seem to think BBS.
  14. Not sure why you leave it for a couple of hours after the first mixing cycle? - my Panasonic bakes a huge loaf in just under 2 hours total and if it was to rise any higher it would hit the lid? Flour improver is worth adding and learning when your machine has finished mixing is wise - you can then gently push the dough to one side and remove the paddle, saves having that big gash on the bottom of the loaf. If you ever see any WESSEX MILL french bread flour give it a try - bread seems to stay fresh much longer.

    Old HW77

Stunning! - I remember these coming out many, many years ago. I was "king of the hill" among our shooting community with my HW80 that would shoot the heads off Roses in my neighbours garden with ease (bless him - he never realised) when a friend that I went to school with turned up one day with the 77 - weighed a ton but it was soooo accurate, I borrowed it a couple of days later and shot 13 Rabbits in under an hour which was brilliant until I tried carrying them home on my Motorbike! So many fond memories around this gun and I am so glad that you took the time to put pictures up - Enjoy it - if it gives you half the pleasure that it gave me then it is, indeed, priceless.
  16. I think Stu might be in the right area - also pretty sure that these run shims twixt the breach block and the action sides - if run dry these will need sorting.

    PELLPAX

FWIW - dealt with them about a year ago and they were exemplary.
  18. Walker570 - I have watched Nuthatches doing exactly the same thing on my feeders - must have had 30 odd Peanuts last time.
  19. FWIW - have 2 Springers - one I've had 5 years plus (docked) has had no issues whatsoever working brush/brambles whilst the second (only had him 6 months - undocked) has been caught up in Brambles twice this last Winter and on both occasions I have had to cut his tail free - once whilst standing in 2 feet of water.
  20. 1st trick Lloyd is grate your Onions and squeeze the water out of them - second is to gently cook your base Spices before adding any ingredients - there's loads of cheats you can do such as using a small Pilchard tin inside the Curry 10 minutes before it's ready - put a burning BBQ coal in the tin and drop Oil onto it - put a lid on the whole affair and your Curry has an amazing Tandoori style flavour.Practice makes perfect but if you want it just like the Pro chefs then you need to use Ghee and such like.
  21. In the last 7or8 days we have enjoyed Sweet and Sour Chicken, Lamb Balti and Tandoori Chicken - all cooked at home for a fraction of Takeaway prices - complete Indian, say Tandoori Chicken, is well under £10 for 2 even using premium Chicken Thighs - under £7 if you buy from the likes of Aldi. It is so easy once you have bought your spices - 50p/100g in Morrisons and they will keep you in Curries for months.
  22. Mix Ant Powder with plaster and fill the gaps then make your own Ant Killer with Borax and Icing Sugar - loads of info on the net - cheap as chips and very effective.
  23. You do not need to "sign" the application document - the notes should explain that simply printing your name on the form counts as your signature.
