  1. Ah, fair doos. Hope it all comes good for you.
  2. Im sure we can club together for a slab or two for you...
  3. I love my aigles. I have a neoprene lined pair for winter and a thin pair for summer. Easily the most comfortable footwear i own, never going back to cheap wellies.
  4. Keep a record of all contacts, do everything you can to help them sort it out, send a final demand, letter before action, then small claims or county court depending on amount.
  5. I reckon its all in the cooking. A really hot pan, a dash of olive oil, then no more than twenty seconds per side.
  6. In northern ireland certainly, moving over i took (public sector) a very slight pay cut but my better half (private sector) gets near half what she would expect on the mainland. In low wage parts of the uk public sector wages are comparably attractive, in areas with better prospects however they quickly become profoundly uncompetitive.

    state pension

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38609422 This is the easiest to follow explanation i have seen. I am 28, my work pension takes 9.3% and i save a few hundered a minth on top.
  8. I had a summer job in a pub where heavy drinkers paid lower rates. Those who qualified were buying more than eight pints every single day mind.
  9. As much as i may not like the DUP or most of their policies I do admire the work they have done for their constituents here. (I voted DUP to shore up the conservatives, but SDLP and SF for Stormont). Now how much of that billion will be for heating, policing gay cake parades, and banning smiling on Sundays.
  10. The triple lock and fuel allowance will cost a lot more than one billion.
  11. When i was small my parents had a lab that loved nothing more than a frozen horse poo. He would play with it like a ball till it got soft and then it turned into a tasty snack.
  12. The post office seem to usually be cheapest for me. Low value contents only though, about £80 a year, they seem to knock off £50 for having the gun safe.
  13. Got one thanks. What failure rate would you accept as beyond purpose? A guntree ad as free to first person to collect seems to work fast, but asking £20-40 seems to get people less likely to **** you around, and not much slower.
  14. The shooting ground at brandesburton has some nice ponds and is well worth visiting for a shoot. I miss the place greatly since moving away.

    F1.

I missed it but it sounds like F1 finally returned to what it was supposed to be - entertainment.
  16. Given the sheer number of appliances and total hours of operation is the odd catastrophic failure not to be expected? White goods are cheaper than ever before, and you can tell when you take them apart. If you would sooner pay for something built to a much higher safety level plus appropriate servicing than take a one in ten million lifetimes risk of a fatal fridge fire either you are ignoring other more serious safety issues that could also very rarely turn nasty or have a huge amount of cash handy to minimise every possible risk. Doi: buy a £10 gumtree fridge each time i move house, sell the old one each time i move rather than shift it.

    A and E

There are lots of excellent reasons why persuading people to work A&E is very very difficult. I enjoy the odd shift to keep my eye in, when the money is right, but could never do it for a career. Everyone i know who has gone for an A&E training job has a get out plan that does not jnvolve a career in nhs A&E.

    Man or woman

You get a handle on it eventually.
  19. This is where it gets complex. Clearly they have had this debate with hmrc as they get milage over 40 miles through without tax or insurance. The only contract i will have however will be with the new distant site. Hopefully a letter explaining the temporary placement will do the trick - thankyou Davyo.
  20. In a **** turn of things the other half is out of work and i have six months a 70 mile round trip away plus a 25% pay cut. Work say were it an 80 mile round trip they would pay milage, but they wont at 70. Over the six months it looks set to total about 9000 miles so a not inconsiderable expense. Obviously i am negotiating on this. If they refuse to budge are HMRC likely to let me claim tax back on the difference between 0p per mile and the standard rate with just my word on journeys or do i need to ask my employer to process claims at a 0p rate?
  21. My shooting is all walkable, the disco is used to pull the horse box. The better half has used the difflock a couple of times in damp rough fields when towing.
  22. 1000 22lr for me and another 1000 22lr for the better half.
  23. I took a trip from Southampton airport with a hard case and a big red 'firearm' sticker that wouldnt come off. Southwest i now know strictly dont permit firearms but they did not object at the time.
