Which semi auto

Hi all,

I am thinking of getting a cheap semi auto for pigeon bashing, rather than use my Browning game 525. I was thinking of spending up to £450 for a new one or about £300 for a good second hand one. I would appreciate any information on good guns to be looking at, or bad ones to avoid.

Thanks all

Tex

I have a Hatsan Escort and will change it soon as it usually kicks 2 carts through instead of one which obvioulsy jams it which is bloody annoying!

As to others i will reserve my comments as i have only ever used another Beretta Semi, which never had an issue but it was only borrowed. But it was a lovely gun!

Never had a problem with mine.

Being as you've got a bit more money then you'll have a bit bigger market to look at.

Hatsan is for me as well I've used several and owned 1 left handed one which cycled everything 21g clay load. 2in carts absolutely everything. Didn't even clean the mechanism every time out and just kept going and going. Only sold it for a FAC shotgun which surprise surprise is a hatsan. Just got another 3 shot secondhand for my brother and it cycles everything as well.

I`ve also got an Escort and I`ve only ever had jams using Eley 1sts other than its been fine, Took it out sunday with my mate and between us put over 200 carts (velocity) through it with no problems. I got mine 2nd hand on price and fit in the mossy oak / camo look not really my cup of tea but it works on a practical level however if I were to get another Semi I would look at something like this as I prefer the look of it http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/265082-franchi-712-raptor-12-gauge/?hl=semi

A Franchi AL48 Hunter. Or Browning A5. Inertia operated loading mechanism.

No gas ports , no O rings, just a simple mechanical mechanism.

Old as the hills , as solid as the hills and as Light as a feather, if you are going

trolling around the fields. Downloadable Manual of the interweb.as well.

All 3/4 Choke, and lovely to shoot. Reasonable prices as well. :good:

Beretta AL391 30" use it most of the time love it to bits doesn't matter if you buy second hand of new

See one in action on youtube "ThePestControllers"

they need a clean as most guns do but thats not a bad thing, looking after your gun should be enjoyable not a chore.

and the AL391 wont let you down

i have shot thousands of cartridges through it and i mean thousands and it doesn't matter what carts i pick up because they all cycle through the beretta no problem.

enjoy

Daz
