Duffryn
After last weeks challenges we had a cracking day at Powis Castle on Saturday. Superb birds, many to good for me. Rob has started an intensive training program (totally my fault for letting him go) I invited a young guy from the youtube channel tweedsandpheasants as my guest on the day. He didn't stop smiling the whole day which made it very rewarding. He will hopefully post his video of the same day on youtube shortly. Warning there are two swear words that I could not edit out Hope you enjoy Edited December 21, 2014 by Duffryn

JDog
I hinted last season that you were in danger of making Rob unsteady by sending him to collect birds before the drives were over. When birds are still flying and you are still shooting there is no way that you can give the dog the attention he needs.

It s the hit rather than wounded birds that he goes for but not helped at al by me sending him for dead birds when I was on a quiet peg and bored last year. I have really learn't my lesson now and should have listened to you

Suffolkngood
That last drive was brilliant. Thanks for posting, We shot there early November and although the way the birds flew morning was disappointing we shot the same drive last. The wind had picked up and the sun was dropping and with a tail wind the pheasants were pretty much flying out of control with their tails being blown pretty much over their backs to the direction the were flying. Duffryn
Thanks for all the kind comments guys We shot there early November and although the way the birds flew morning was disappointing we shot the same drive last. The wind had picked up and the sun was dropping and with a tail wind the pheasants were pretty much flying out of control with their tails being blown pretty much over their backs to the direction the were flying. Its surprising how many birds that small wood holds - the last drive which i think is called pen yr foel always seems to work well
