I think the max is 500/600 rounds well think that's what is on my ticket (lincolnsire)

There is no MAX, only general recommendations in various guides.

It should come down to what any individual can justify, which will tend to be different for most people!

I've just received my first FAC license (well back in May anyway) and I got 600 on .17HMR......I think it all come down to amount of shooting you'll be doing!! I have 1000 acres with a lot of rabbits, so they obviously deemed 600 enough, and I got 200 on .243 so obviously a small acreage for deer so didn't need as much....hope that makes sense, good luck

buy and hold get scrapped on renewal. there is just one figure for you.

500 is a bad figure in my opinion as it is far more convenient to buy at least a packet/block of 500 so that means you will have to run your stock down to to zero....

So I would say get at least 600 on your ticket which will allow you to go and get new rounds in a block of 500 when your stock goes down to 100.

Surprised no one has mentioned a price break. I hold that favourable quantity plus 100.

That will be because the Police/Home Office have no interest in your financial situation and make no specific allowance for it. In simple terms they do not recognise finance as a valid reason for any quantity, it would be daft if they did........... "I live on Shetland but visit a RFD in Penzance once every 5 years, can I buy 25,000 rounds please because I get a good deal!"

We all know that does not strictly follow in the real world though. :good:

I was thinking more on the lines of, I shoot a bit, get a decent discount on 500 from my RFD which is not excessive for my needs. So plus 100 to avoid running out is a reasoned sensible (for me) 600. Likewise, the 22LR. That answers the OP question as to what I have on my ticket.
