steve_b_wales
Hi all, I have been Asked to shoot the foxs on a local golf course, I have shot them on this course before but I am fed up with doing it for nothing. Can any one tell me what rate pest control companies charge for fox removal please. Personally, I would more than happy to shoot them for nothing, if I was asked. But if you want to charge, I would have a chat with them and ask if they are happy to pay you, and what would they consider a fair price. You could mention your travelling costs and ammunition, plus your time.
walshie
One course I shoot at lets me have a free round of golf when I feel like it and pays for my ammo. If you charge any more than that, someone will always do it for nothing.
stubby
Can any one tell me what rate pest control companies charge for fox removal please. seriously, your gonna have a heart attack, that "big firm" that everyone knows starting with R, charge the underground around £1200 per fox
Rim Fire
I will do it for 600 and travel must be mad there is loads of shooters who would give there right arm to shoot fox on a golf course
Billy.
Unless you're a bonafide pest control company, you can't really justify asking them to pay you, or they'd just call in the professionals if they wanted to pay someone. The truth is that there is a huge queue of people stood ready and waiting to take up the offer of fox control on a large patch of land, for free. Pest control is a serious thing and if you don't take them seriously enough, or don't put the hours in, it'll go to someone who does know the importance and who doesn't care if it's all for nothing... They must have a problem and they more than likely want to see results, so if you're not out almost every night, you'll probably see someone else getting called in to do the job. fenboy
Perhaps they a fed up with giving you permission for nothing , if it is such a chore I am sure there will be someone else in the local area happy to give up thier time. Muddy Funker
Some people would probably pay the golf course for the permission I'd just be grateful I had somewhere to shoot and play golf for free, not that I play golf. rimfire4969
If you don't fancy it just put up the name of the golf club on here, I expect they would have many calls offering a good service for nothing.
rbrowning2
Why would a golf course want the foxs shoot? I only ask as I shoot a golf course and was told not to shoot the foxs as they are there to take the rabbits 24/7 when I am not and it is the rabbits that do the damage to the greens. compo90
Foxes dig, **** in sand bunkers and may also cause problems at the club house bins......... I understand why they want them gone....... A few keepers I know are hard on rabbits as they feel they draw foxes in........ Pest control comapnies do charge a lot to get rid of foxes but tend to use traps and its more labour intensive...... Ask for some beer/fuel/ammo money would be fair
al4x
seriously, your gonna have a heart attack, that "big firm" that everyone knows starting with R, charge the underground around £1200 per fox I'm guessing the reasons are down to live rails and limited access and having to be very careful about the public
psycho
I know plenty of lads who would do it for nothing including myself you need to appreciate that it can take years to get a permission especially in the north east I even know some that would pay to get the privilege .. Suffolkngood
When you stop enjoying something then it's possibly time to give it up? If it's your job and pest control is your income then by all means charge the going rate.........but if it's not then maybe hand it over to someone else that will appreciate the opportunity. deershooter
Have you ever seen your mate covered in fox **** after it's been hit with a sand wedge it's not funny Deershooter ( well sometimes it is lol )
scotslad
If u want to charge and there happy to pay go for it, really no ones elses business BUT remember ur normal BASC type insurance will not cover u as u are now charging for ur services. But if ur charging they would also expect a professional service It is a strange thing that in shooting/vermin control/even keepering so many are happy to do it for nowt. spanj
I'm guessing the reasons are down to live rails and limited access and having to be very careful about the public What would you guessthe reasons for them to charge £300 per day (about 6 years ago) to shoot feral pigeons on a private industrial estate with an air rifle (it was a springer so they didnt even pay for the air !!). I told my boss I'd do it for half that, with all bona fides and insurance etc............. nope lets pay the Big R lol, a fool and his money................... The bloke needs paying and they need to make some money. An air rifle may have been the right tool for the job.
Salop Matt
I wouldnt charge for any shooting of any kind, but also wouldnt pay for any other than game either. I would happily shoot fox`s for free ! I wouldnt start asking for payment as they may just get someone else in who also wouldnt want paying ! Wow........ the air rifle was absolutely the right tool for the job but £300 per day (appx 6 hrs and about 6 years ago doesnt strike me as great value for money but hey ho each to their own I guess

stubby
I'm guessing the reasons are down to live rails and limited access and having to be very careful about the public nope, it's because they won't do it themselves, in case the "public" were to see, it would put the company in a bad light (crazy that they have the word kill in their name) so they sub contract the work out, I told them I would do it for £250 per fox, but no
Billy.
Wow........ the air rifle was absolutely the right tool for the job but £300 per day (appx 6 hrs and about 6 years ago doesnt strike me as great value for money but hey ho each to their own I guess I charge people £1000 a day to have me fly a remote control helicopter with a camera strapped to it.... If we spend more than an hour in the air, I'll feel that we've had a hard day. £300 a day for a professional services company, even six years ago, is cheap. Edited February 18, 2015 by Billy.
