Hope not, I agree with controlling foxes with a clean well placed shot job done, not chase it all over the countryside to be ripped to bits.Sorry but that's my opinion and no I am not an anti.

Of course you are! If you don't agree it don't do it! simple...... why do some people have to try to force their own moral position and opinions on others?

Oh! before you ask, no I don't Foxhunt!

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

clearly being chased and killed by hounds leaves a lot to be desired but the numbers were minute compared with the millions of poultry, pigs, sheep and cattle, that are often kept in ### conditions before queuing up to die, so most of the antis can have some fast food

Totally agree, why would you want to hunt It to total exhaustion. Is this regarded as a humane kill, And I am no anti for the record !!.A sport "If you want to call It". I call It barbaric, As Davyo said shoot It. never knew what hit It.

Ok, if we take your argument to its conclusion, are you again driven shooting too? Pheasants are blanked in to drives from sometimes many fields away, by shouting men and slobbering ravenous dogs. Is that barbaric?, the outcome is the same. The countryside has enough enemies outside it, without the fieldsports fraternity sacrificing each other. Look at the hunting marches, hundreds of thousands of people all stood together and had their voice heard (and ignored, but that's not the point!) if nothing else it will give more people to wind up of Facebook, I'm running out of Labour supporters

You seriously believe shooting a driven pheasant is the same as dogs chasing a fox down and ripping it to pieces for sport/tradition. May as well be dog fighting for all I can see. The only difference is you have chavs and thugs dog fighting rather than the country side elite

Can the same be said of the mighty salmon being dragged through the water for over nearly an hour from its mouth, absolutely exhausted, then hit over his head to finish him.

Well we only shoot for sport/tradition, we don't need to, if you want to be picky!! Countryside elite, you must be a labour voter!! I know plenty of people who are very far from elite that hunt! Any way we are all allowed an opinion, but I for one will back a repeal, I doubt it will happen, but it could quite easily have been shooting sports that are fighting for survival one day!

it's not exactly the same but it's not a million miles away is it. Do you think that pheasants enjoy being hounded out of cover to a firing line to be either killed , injured , or best scenario missed ,so then it can be fed all week in the same place so it can go through the same procedure next shoot day . Get a grip .

Only thing that i could see as a result of the ban was there were many more people going along when the hunt just ignored the ban anyway.

I am no great fan of foxhunting and no friend of the hunt by any means. Still think it was wrong to ban it all the same.

Repealing the law won't make any difference.

Thanks jtd10, I wasn't seriously comparing the 2, but at the end of the day we all kill, or try and kill things for basically fun. Surely it's a bit hypocritical to pick when it is, and isn't ok, to suit your own agenda.

Foxes are way better off in hunting country, plus a hunted fox never escapes injured. It is either killed or escapes, and most of the time it escapes.

My personal anology is that a foxes natural predators were wolves and lynx, wolves would hunt in a pack and hunt the fox down in exactly teh same way as a pack of hounds, by scent.
